the slicer arrived exactly as described and in excellent condition.
i've been using it daily since then and it hasn't met a bagel it couldn't conquer. quick, razor sharp, hands fully protected, nice wide jaws that allow for some pretty fat bagels to be sliced - what more could you ask?
i throw it into the dishwasher on the top rack and it comes out just fine and ready to face it's next foe.
one tip: once in awhile i buy my bagels in bulk and freeze those i won't be using immediately. i've found that a quick nuking will thaw the bagel quickly, but when it comes out of the microwave, it's pretty soft and moist. the brooklyn slicer doesn't like a very soft and moist bagel and tends to mash it down a bit and make a pretty ragged cut. so be aware of that trait and proceed accordingly. that's not a fault of the slicer, it's a fault of the user. even because the results are less than perfect under those conditions, i'm staying with my five star rating.
