I did not have many choices for a 7" damper, this one is built very lite. I put two pieces of felt, one on each flap in adjacient spots so they touch when the vent is open, this gives it a little more weight to stay shut, and it stopped the noise of the flaps hitting each other when my vent is on. I used this on a Zephyr Hurricane vent with two fans over a six burner stove. It really has a lot of air flow on my vent. It works and it was cheap to do...and easy for me.Customer Review: Works well. Fits more models than listed.

The damper can be a little noisy when it's windy, but otherwise works great. More importantly, the actual label on the item says it fits more models than were listed in the description:

We are very pleased with our purchase of a 7" round damper for the vent pipe of our kitchen vent hood. The price was VERY reasonable. The seller's shipping charges were modest. The packaging was professional and protected our purchase enroute. I will check to see other items carried by this seller for future purchases. This is a very cheaply made damper for older range venting systems that still have a 7" round vent pipe. Unlike the included rectangular damper, this one (not included in my Broan range hood) has no insulation between metal parts and thus is very noisy as the vented air passes through. Now we're forced to go through the extra time and expense of adapting the round pipe to the rectangular damper.Customer Review: Complete Crap

What a complete peice of crap. It's hard to believe that this company would even put thier name on it. I installed it with my new QS230SS hood - at any speed, all you can hear is this stupid damper rattling around. Instead of a finished project, now I'm looking at taking the hood off again to swap this out for a better damper. Bahhhhh!
