I bought this Brita water pitcher after reviewing a lot of filtration devices. This was one cost-effective product that was said to remove copper and other minerals. I have well water that's tested regularly for micro-organisms and its clean that way, but not for minerals. Basically my water was undrinkable, always had a scum on it. I knew there was copper and iron in it because my tub would turn blue. I don't of course use this filter for filling my bath tub. Now after almost one month daily use, my water is good to drink, to make coffee and no scum. I am glad I bought extra filters so when this runs out, a new one is ready.
I would definitely recommend this.

I have been using my Brita Aqualux Water Pitcher for over a month now, and just love it!! Although our water is Marin County is just fine, the taste of this filtered water is tops! The pitcher is easy to use and to refill. I don't need to use ice, as the water is always cold. I bake a lot of sour dough bread, so the filtered water is perfect for this. I no longer find myself buying water in plastic bottles, which is much better for the environment, as plastic bottles are often re-cycled overseas, which doesn't make a lot of sense. I highly recommend everyone owning a Brita pitcher. I am hooked, and my family really likes the taste of the water, as well.Customer Review: Excellent, as always by Brita, Love the Sensor.

We live in the so called "boonies" and have well water. I have installed water filters for drinking under our sink in our fridge etc....they just dont cut it. The water tastes strange....so I wanted to try something to let us get great tasting water and help the environment by not buying water bottles.....
Brita is the answer.
This jug has a sensor on top that will remind you to change the filter. That is one of the best features....another thing I dont have to worry about or remember until its time. The water tastes perfect to me in our home now and I have no hesitation in recommending this item.

I love my new brita aqualux water pitcher. I was concerned about all the plastic I used when buying bottled water, but I disliked the smell and taste of the water from my faucet. So, I bought the Brita water pitcher.
I love the design. It fits easily into my refrigerator because it is very slim.
I had read in reviews of people having problems with the top coming off. I have never had the top fall off when I was pouring water. Not a problem at all!
And, the taste of the water is great. There is no yucky smell! Even my kids will drink it because now I always have cold water on hand.
Customer Review: The lid is sooooo irritating

We bought the older model with manual timer two and a half years ago. We are happy with the taste and have no issue (yet) with the quality of the different parts. On the other hand, the lid has never ever stayed in its place. I had to hold the pitcher with one hand and the lid with the other. Not always practical so now, we take off the lid (well, sometimes hubby forgets and I know it when I hear him growling) but come on, we are not supposed to "play" with that. Also I don't like the black particles standing in the top tank.
Hoped the new model's lid would have been fixed, I'm disappointed...
