Customer Review: the lid broke the first day

The part holding on the plastic hinge broke before I even got to USE it! I was taking it apart to wash it and it just snapped right off. And not just the hinge but the entire piece that attached it to the pitcher, so a 3 inch long break. Not made as sturdy as they used to be (I was replacing my 8 year old original version which is still in great shape, but I wanted a space saver model).Customer Review: Water leak

Ok, the actual filter inside the Pitcher works great, the water has a big improvement in taste after the process, but this pitcher has a MAJOR design problem. If the unfiltered water compartment is full when you are pouring water, the unfiltered water will be poured down to your cup together with your clean water. The digital change filter indicator was the attraction to this pitcher however I find that the hinged cover over the pouring lip tends to stick. This makes it difficult to get a good stream for pouring. I had the previous pitcher without the digital indicator and probably will return to using it. I bought the pitcher with the digital change filter indicator thinking that it would tell you when you've filtered 40 gallons of water. However, it just indicates that the filter needs changing after it counts 8 weeks, regardless of how much water you have filtered.No thanks, I'll take the manual sticker method and save some money, this is a useless feature.

The Brita system is the best I've seen for home filtration. The water tastes pure and clean. I would recommend this for anyone and the savings over bottled water is astounding. In many cases, it even tastes better.Contrary to advertisement, this system is very quick and easy. We are giving this as gifts to our family this year for Christmas.
