Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 42556 Grand 80-Ounce Water Filtration Pitcher, WhiteCustomer Review: Lid really is problem Summary: 4 Stars
It is really too bad that Brita could not have made the lid fit better on this pitcher...for the money you pay you should be able to expect better quality. I still gave it 4 stars since I am so pleased with how it works, how great my water tastes, and no more bottled water. I can cope with the lid issue, but if I had kids in and out of the fridge the spillage would be a big problem.
Customer Review: a trap for the unwary Summary: 1 Stars
Not sure if Britta has changed their system but, unless you are very careful to seat the filter and system correctly you get a nice surprise, water all over the counter and floor. I filled the top last night got up this morning to pour a glass of water. The filter was, somehow stopped up and the entire contents spilled all over the counter. Bad design. I will go back to tap water.
Customer Review: Better Tasting Water Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the Brita water pitcher because I was tired of buying (and running out) of bottled water. Our tap water is not bad, it just tastes a bit like chlorine. This pitcher does a very good job filtering out all of the chlorine taste. It tastes very similar (not quite exactly) like bottled water. I am pleased with the pitcher. [...] has some good info.
Customer Review: Brita 42556 Grand Pitcher Summary: 2 Stars
I think the Brita filters do a good job of filtering the water. I just wish the pitchers were better made. I get a couple of years out of a picture before they fall apart.
The lid also does not really fit very securely. If you try to pour water before while the upper chamber is filled the lid comes off and the water spills out all over.
Customer Review: Brita Grand Pitcher Summary: 3 Stars
We owned a Brita for many years, and recently I used a gift card to purchase a newer model. It is amazing how crystal clear the water is. However, the cover does not fit properly, and in order to pour the water out it's necessary to remove the cover first. This is definitely an inconvenience and I would not purchase this model again.
