Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 42556 Grand 80-Ounce Water Filtration Pitcher, White

Customer Review: Wow! What a difference a Brita makes!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a few minor body "chemistry" issues, and all water from any faucet tasted somewhat bitter. For that reason, I hated to drink water...that is, until I bought a Brita! What a great product! I'm so happy with this product that I could kiss its makers!

Of course, drinking at least 48 oz. of water per day is essential to good health. Now, I can drink plenty of water without enduring that bitter taste. This has given me a new lease on life; and, already, my skin tone has improved. Wonderful!

Customer Review: Decent Pitcher
Summary: 3 Stars

I agree with the complaint from other people about the lid being poorly designed. But this isn't the first Brita pitcher I have bought so I was aware of the issue and was also fine with the filter change indicator merely keeping track of time and not actual water usage. I have bought bad filters with the black spots only once. If that happens again, I will seriously consider not buying Brita picthers again. But the pitcher's body is of sturdy construction so I feel it is an adequate pitcher.

Customer Review: Lid wouldn't stay on
Summary: 1 Stars

I saw that others wrote about this problem, but bought it anyway hoping that this wouldn't happen to me.

Well it did, no matter what I did the lid wouldn't fit tightly and would fall off when I poured. I was replacing an older Brita pitcher (that I had dropped and cracked) that I never had this type of problem with. There's no reason to have to deal with this.

I returned it. Bought the "Vintage" model, same capacity, on sale for a great price at [...].

Customer Review: just ok
Summary: 3 Stars

i guess whether or not you get a functioning pitcher is how lucky you are. I have one at home and the top fits snug and i was very happy with it. i bought one for work and the lid fit very poorly. i called Brita and they sent a new lid. fits a little better but not tight and will fall off if tipped too far. we like the size of the pitcher so decided to keep it and solved the problem by writing "hold lid while pouring" with a sharpie.

Customer Review: Terrible
Summary: 1 Stars

This pitcher is poorly designed and constructed in almost every way imaginable. I have the same spout problem as the first reviewer. On top of that, I find that the filter gets dislodged, and sometimes floats to the top while I am filtering, thereby mixing my already filtered water with dirty, grey New York city tap water. I hate this pitcher. As soon as I run out of filters, it's going in the dumpster.
