Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brita 42378 Deluxe Water PitcherCustomer Review: This Brita is the Bomb Summary: 5 Stars
All I have to say is that this Brita is one of the best purchases I have ever made. You can't put a price on freezing cold water on a hungover morning. I have two homes, one in LA and one in NYC, and I have a this Brita in both. The tap water in either place is not particularly good however the Brita removes the lead flavor and replaces it with tasty water goodness. In NYC, a large poland springs bottle from the deli (nice and cold) is about $2.25 on averages, so what's $25 for never having to leave the home for tasty water awesomeness. The perfect hangover remedy, while offering well needed hydration. Indeed the bomb!
Customer Review: Great! Summary: 5 Stars
First I'd like to say... if you can't lift a few quarts of water then do not buy a water pitcher.
This pitcher/filter works great! It does exactly as it claims... it filters the water.
Pro's to having a Brita filtering water pitcher:
Clean, drinkable water.
No more lugging cases of bottled water up to my apartment.
No more being responsible for filling the landfills with plastic bottles.
Saves money!
Water pitcher + aluminum sports bottle = convience
Less likely to get cancer.
Cons:
Have to turn on tap and fill pitcher.
Customer Review: Major Design Flaws Summary: 2 Stars
Brita filtered water tastes the absolute best but I could do with out the hassle of this particular pitcher. The flap on the lip broke on the first day because the points that hold it in place arer very tiny. However, the entire lid wantrs to fly off everytime I pour a drink. There is nothing securing the lip to the pitcher itself. Also, if you have recently filled the pitcher, don't bother pouring another drink until it has filtered entirely or all of it will spill out. Major design flaws make this item more trouble than it's woerth so after a month of using this product, I'm scouting for a betteer one.
Customer Review: Not quite perfect Summary: 3 Stars
We have a smaller, chrome-topped, Brita pitcher we keep in the fridge, but found we were refilling it frequently. So we bought this, the largest one I think they make except for the dispenser model, to keep on the counter. It's okay, but a little cheaply made, particular the white plastic castings. The filler door on top has a poorly designed hinge that tends to become dislodged, and the flap that covers the spout sticks sometimes as you go to poor, spilling water. Still, the body itself is a stout bit of plastic, and the handle is comfortable to poor whether the pitcher is topped up or nearly empty.
Customer Review: Excellent investment for a college student Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this pitcher so I could enjoy great-tasting water at my college without having to waste a lot of money on bottled water. I have been using this pitcher for a few weeks now, and it is one of the best investments I have ever made. The water tastes great, and this pitcher is pretty easy to use. The lid can fall off if you try to tip it an an extreme angle, or if you try to pour water water when it is still filtering, but these are pretty minor issues. Overall, I am incredibly happy with this pitcher, and would highly recommend it to anyone, provided they use it in the way it was designed!
