We received the juicer about a week ago and are very happy with it. The unit looks and feels solid and does an outstanding job in making a lot of juice very quickly.
While the unit has many features that appealed to us, the two features that we enjoy most are how quickly it makes juice and how very easy it is to clean. You can easily fill the pitcher in less than 30 seconds (e.g.: 3 apples / 2 stalks celery / 2 large carrots / 1 pear) and the pulp is barely moist to the touch. And by using a plastic grocery bag in the pulp bin cleanup is a snap - tossing the bag and rinsing out the mixer and pitcher takes all of a minute (if you do it right away).
I plan on writing an update to this review in several months since some of the other reviews I read prior to puchasing this unit mentioned problems with the motor not working - either out of the box or after a couple of months of use. So far though I have to say that the juicer is working like a champ.

Before buying, I researched pretty thoroughly which juicer to purchase. I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase the Breville. The best feature is the large chute, it handles minimally cut up vegetables which saves a lot of time. Also, it is fast, it makes juice out of anything (hard/soft) quickly and without fuss. Very easy to clean. I had borrowed an inexpensive juicer from a friend to see if I would like juicing..now that I have the Breville, I would never use anything less than the Breville. I have been using it for about a month and haven't missed a day of juicing. If you are going to stick to juicing, it must be easy to prepare vegetables (minimal cutting) and easy to clean. The Breville does both of these things above and beyond. There may be better, higher powered juicers out there but my Breville does everything that I wanted it to do, even better than I expected. I purchased this juicer for my mother in law as a gift. She's a twice daily juicer so I did quite a bit of research before purchasing a product that wouldn't conk out on here in a year. She has been VERY pleased with every aspect of the juicer. It has a very large hopper (about the size of a medium sized apple) so it cuts down on the cutting of everything. Plus the screen extracts much more juice. It is very clean as the pulp goes directly into an enclosed container....no flying pulp spitting out on the counter and wall. And easy clean up. Bottom line is that she loves it as a product. The ONLY DOWNSIDE we found was that she had to find a different place to store it. It is very tall and there fore will NOT fit under your standard sized cabinets on the counter. She likes to have appliances out on the counter that she uses every day, so that was a bit of a bummer...but because of its performance she will certainly deal with it.Customer Review: Breville Juice Fountain Plus

I saw an infomercial about the Jack Lalanne Juicer. I wanted to purchase a good juicer within my budget for a while now and I did some research. For the same price as the J.L. Power Juicer, the Breville Juice Fountain Plus has a more powerful motor and seemed like a better all around juicer. There were some complaints about the Jack Lalanne juicer, and none that I could see about the Breville juicer. I was extremely pleased with my order of the Breville Juice Fountain Plus as it juiced quickly without jamming, the convenient pitcher fit snuggly onto the spout and has a foam prevention feature so the bitter foam doesn't end up in your glass. I've had my juicer for a couple of years now and I am constantly impressed with its durability. Around the home it's been great and always worked like a champ. I'm also a professional bartender and recently decided to see how this thing stood up in a restaurant environment, since we've started to make our own ginger beer and need ginger juice.
As you may well know, ginger is not the easiest root to extract juice from. It's incredibly hard, fibrous and unforgiving. I've seen a Champion-brand juicer start to smoke and buckle when faced with too much of the stuff. But the Breville has consistently dominated in this department, juicing upwards of ten pounds of ginger in a sitting (yielding over 4 quarts of ginger juice!!!). I could not be more impressed with this tool, between its ease of use, easy cleanup and durability. Now that the price has seriously dropped, this is an amazing value!
