I have read a few negative reviews regarding this juicer and it's as simple as this: either there was an issue right out of the box or the people didn't read the manual.
Reading the manual for this juicer is 100% key to getting the most out of it. There are specific directions on what types of fruits and veggies and at what speeds to juice them at...also important are the directions on cleaning the juicer, especially the basket - to make sure it juices effectively. It's super easy to clean and even easier if you use hot water and rinse it immediately after juicing.
I'm still on my original basket from 2 and half years ago and it's still going great for carrots, kale, lemons, whole apples, and more.
I have also bought two of these as gifts refurbished. One of them came with a bent basket (which created heavy vibrations an wobbling) and Breville promptly replaced it for me for free.
There have been some great juices I have made from this thing, but the absolute BEST has been juicing some watermelon and pineapple and then adding tequila. You won't have a better summer cocktail ever.

I recently took a notion to start juicing. I had a really old juicer which was difficult to clean. It finally broke for good forcing me to purchase a new one. Luckily I purchased the Breville JE95XL. It has changed my life. It is so easy to use and clean that juicing has become part of my daily routine.
It has a large opening so that vegetables don't need to be cut in tiny pieces to fit. It has a very strong motor and a fine mesh for extracting all of the juice and leaving dry pulp behind. It even has a strainer on the collection container that skims off the foam as you pour the juice into your glass. The designers of this machine must truly be juicing fanatics themselves to have thought of all of these good points to include in their product.
Since using this product every day, I have lost weight and even better than that, I have more energy than I know what to do with. I have to ask myself, shall I climb a mountain today or run a marathon? I have been a vegetarian for years but juicing raw vegetables apparently provides all the phytonutrients my body needs to feel younger, better and more alive.

I received my juicer yesterday and went right to work juicing.
The packaging was secure and when i opened it ,not being familiar with what should be in the package ,removed all the cardboard and looked for the instruction manual,Unfortunatly it was not in the package,also missing was the juice jug. Today i spoke to April at Amazon customer service and told her about it and she is sending a replacement. Also spoke with Breville after Amazon and Tamara from Breville also offered to send a juice jug. The product using my own container works great,I made apple juice (delicious) This replaces a juicer I paid 20 bucks for a few weeks ago at a local store that works fine but had a narrow chute and the amount of juice from it ,my impression is less then one half what the je95xl extracts.This alone is cost effective and justifies the investment in a 850 watt product as opposed to a 450 watt or less product. Since I am getting a new package from Amazon,I suggested to TAmara from Brevile that i will wait for it. I am a happy camper with the Product and the Wonderful attitude in customer service from Breville and Amazon.

My Brevile JE95XL wins in all catagories: functional design, aesthetic design, overall quality and performance.
I've worked in quality control and this unit scores higher than most anything I've owned or seen. A simple indicator of quality is the use of a standard toggle switch for power. In the unlikely event you needed to replace it out of warrantee, you can get it at your local electronics or hardware store.
It is amazing how carrots are gobbled up very fast. You barely need the pusher. Apples are harder to push because a blade slices through them as you push which keeps them in place while juicing.
The motor speed ramps up when you turn it on, which keeps the unit from spinning on the counter top.
Clean up is easy because all surfaces are smooth and rounded. You do get carrot stains, but they are not in the plastic. The stains will wipe off with a damp cloth. You have to bleach the fiber container to clean the stains off it, because it's made of low density plactic, or you could insert a plastic bag in it before juicing.
You bet I'm happy!!

After reading the reviews I went ahead and bought this unit based primarily on recommendation of my brother in law who's had the same unit for months. After getting it home and using it a bit it's easy to see where the burnout issues came from. All motors draw higher amps when starting up, if starting under load they need way more amps to get up to speed. It clearly states in the owners manual to allow the unit to get to full speed before adding anything, it also says to push "gently" on the feed. Ours has worked flawlessly and gives a good juice to pulp (fairly dry pulp) ratio. Should there be a reset button instead of a non-serviceable fuse? Absolutely, however if you use this unit as directed it will produce lots of juice with no issues. Always let it get up to speed (as directed) and it works like a champ.
Folks it's a home user level juicer and from what I've seen of other juicers it's on the high end of mid range, if you want an industrial strength juicer you'll pay way more.
Hint: Don't buy an expensive juicer 'till you are sure you're going to stick with it.
