Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor
This would be my first juicer. I reviewed several juicers before deciding on this one. I got it in January of 2008(it is now March of 2008) and use it 5 times a week. I have to say that so far, I LOVE this juicer. It's so fast and clean up is a breeze. What I found most helpful about the other reviews is placing a plastic bag in the pulp bin (I use produce bags from the grocery store). Before juicing, I fill my empty sink with warm, soapy water, ready to wash the 3 main parts right after juicing. I have tupperware bins of washed carrots, celery, parsley, etc. at the ready. The only thing I don't pre-cut is citrus. It tends to go bitter if pre-cut. I peel lemons, limes or oranges right before juicing. If using parsley, bunch it up tightly and stick it in between two other veggies. This way it tends to juice better and not fly right into the pulp bin. The red off button is great. As soon as your last veggie is finished juicing, just hit the red button and it turns it off. I clean and dry the juicer parts right after drinking my juice. Be extremely careful of the blade screen-cup. The blades are razor-sharp. I hold it on the outside black base and scrub it under running water. The scrubber brush it comes with does a great job. I'm hoping this juicer will last a very long time. The only thing I figure on replacing in the future might be the screen-cup blade if it starts to dull, and I hope that won't be for a few years. Otherwise, the parts are all sturdy and welded together nicely.
Customer Review: I'm impressed... Summary: 5 Stars
I read review after review in searching for a juicer (Santa's Christmas present to me). I am new to juicing so it was really the only thing I had to go by. I have been using my juicer for about a month now and I absolutely love it! I can't imagine it being any easier to use. I don't much like peeling oranges before I can juice them whole. I keep wondering if a citrus juicer would be better for oranges. Either way, I still love my Breville. Even if I invest in another small citrus juicer I won't feel disappointed with this one. It's quiet, it's fast, and cleanup is simple and fast. There are only four pieces that you have to wash out when you're finished juicing, five if you don't use a plastic baggie in the pulp container. The juice is fantasic. I was a little wary of how it might taste because my mom bought a juicer a few years ago and the juice it produced was awful. Also, if you are like me and you don't care for pulp in your oj or any other juice then this juicer is the one for you. There is almost NO pulp in any kind of juice that I make. What little bit of texture that is there (depending on what kind of juice you make) is hardly noticeable. My 7 yo. also loves all of the juices that I make, which speaks volumes if you have kids. Anyway, we could neither one be happier with this juicer and I'm glad I spent the money on this one because it was worth every penny. I contemplated getting a less expensive one since I was new to juicing but eventually concluded that spending $300 and loving my juicer was better than spending $150 on one and being disappointed - I made the right choice. Delivery was very fast from Amazon.
Customer Review: The Juiceman Cometh Summary: 4 Stars
Breville to my rescue! It's been about four months now since my purchase of this juicer. It arrived quick and in tact. On my first use of this "powerful" machine-I notice a slight lost of lower sound registery in my ears....so, on the next usage of the juicer I used cushioned ear plugs. It solved the issue, but this seemed a bit counter productive. With more usage and without the ear plugs...I no longer notice any lower ear sound lost issue. Just to note...the hearing bounced back. After a couple of hours on the first use- I guess the motor had to calibrate after the first run. The wide nossle makes it extremly easy to toss whole fruits like mid-sized apples, large cucumbers without chopping. The torq on this machine is amazing. I had a Jack Lalane Juiceman for years (9). The J.L. juiceman was still working and I gave it to a friend and upgraded to this stronger Breville 800 JEXL. In comparision to the J.L. juiceman the one thing I find a tad flemsy on the Breville is the mesh screen that traps and extracts the juice. When I wash it with the scrub brush that comes with this product it seems as if with a little more force the mesh might pop out of its joint/frames. With the J.L. juiceman the mesh screen was very sturdy and not as flemsy as the Breville. Clean up on this product is not as time consuming as one think. This machine is a warrior configuration-built to last.To save on clean up, I simply place a plastic bag in the pulp container and toss it out afterwards. This is a "GOOD" investment for anyone looking to bump up their health regamine. I had my doubts at first, but with one use-you'll be glad you invested the money in this baby!
Customer Review: Easy to Use; Juices Various Fruits/Vegetables Summary: 5 Stars
This juicer is easy to assemble/disassemble and use. Although it's a centrifugal juicer, it does not appear to produce significant amounts of heat; the juice produced is cool to cold. It has two speeds: low and high. Low works well for cucumbers, broccoli, tomatoes, berries, citrus fruits, etc. High works well for carrots, apples, celery, sweet potatoes, etc. The wide-mouth chute makes it possible to add whole items or large chunks, minimizing the need for pre-chopping/cutting. The supplied manual has useful info regarding proper speeds for different items, as well as recipes for both juice and leftover pulp. By the way, the pulp produced is very dry, demonstrating the high efficiency of juice extraction.
The juicer is fairly easy to clean. The most difficult part would be the screen of course, but the supplied brush is helpful. Since everything is stainless steel, there's no staining. We've been using this nearly everyday for 4 months and everything is holding up nicely thus far. The Breville website also has replacement parts if needed.
This isn't the best for juicing items like leafy greens or wheat grass, but I knew that when I purchased (and the reason is the juicer type, centrifugal, not this particular machine). After researching many juicers, I picked a happy medium among them based on versatility, ease of use and cleaning, juice quality, price, etc.
I do wish Breville added a longer warranty for this machine. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my purchase and I'm now getting a variety of fruits/vegetables in my diet that I would not be getting otherwise.

Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor
I got this from bestseller21 here on Amazon.
It got here on time and brand new just as I was told it would.
I took it out of the box and put it on my counter where I plan to keep it .
This thing is Beautiful and even makes my kitchen look better.
I washed it (just to be safe) but it was spotless to start with.
When I turned it on I must admit it turned me on a little because I love good craftsmanship and ...POWER...and it has both.
I started dropping apples, celery and carrots in it just to see them disappear in seconds and produce flowing juice into juice jug.
I got a little carried away and filled the jug up so fast it ran over a bit but I just laughed and wiped up the spill.
The juice was great and I drank the whole jug full right away by myself.
For future reference that might not have been the best idea I ever had.
One hour later I realized that all those live enzymes will clean you up and clean you out so next time a 8 oz. glass of that particular concoction will suffice.
All in all this thing works great, looks beautiful and makes me feel I have made a good investment. If you read any bad reviews on this juicer just blow them off because they are truly unfounded.
Oh yea I almost forgot ... Clean up is really easy just 5 minutes at the sink and your done. So if you want a great powerful and beautiful juicer buy a Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor.
I did and I love it.
