Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Braun WK200B AquaExpress Electric Water Kettle

Customer Review: Braun WK200B Electric Kettle
Summary: 5 Stars

We had the same Kettle while we lived in Europe. We were very satisfied with it but couldn't bring it to the US because of the different electrical system in the US. When we found it on Amazon we were very pleased and bought it right away. The Braun Kettle is the best electric kettle we have ever had. It's cordless, boils water fast, it's light weight and it's beautifully designed. I can recommend this product to anybody who wishes to have a Electric Water Kettle.

Customer Review: Sleek and efficient
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this kettle for over a month and am very happy with it. I followed the advice about boiling off and throwing away the first jug of water and it tastes fine. The features are easy to read, there's no ugly exposed electric coil in it which my previous English electric kettles have had and it fits in well with my other black kitchen appliances. The auto-cut off works although it does seem to boil a little longer than necessary before turning itself off.

Customer Review: Can't have a morning without it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I first learned about an electric kettle when living in Germany. Everyone there uses it for tea. We use it for tea, instant coffee, instant grits, instant oatmeal and for making tea by the gallon. My husband and I use it for coffee every morning. He is doing PT at 3:30am and I get up at 5:30. Coffee sitting in a pot would be cold and old with the time difference. We just make a single cup when we want one. The kettle heats the water faster than the microwave.

Customer Review: Good, but Slow
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this kettle to replace a Chef's Choice Electric French Press which we had been using for several years as a kettle. The Braun AquaExpress is easier to use and quieter. However, the AquaExpress takes about twice as long to boil water even though its input is 250W more (based on equal amouts of water). The Braun ultimately has the ability to heat more water as well.
I like it, but I wish it was as fast as the Chef's Choice press.

Customer Review: The filter rips too easily. Other than that, it's a GREAT product.
Summary: 3 Stars

I love this product so much, I am actually using the 2nd one. The reason why I had to buy the 2nd one is because the detachable filter got ripped, and the replacement cost was too much, and I used it for over 3 years.
I expected the filter of my 2nd one to last as long as the last one (3+ years). But it got ripped within the first 6 months. I'm very disappointed. I'm still using the product, but I see white calcium flakes in my tea.
