I decided I had to get an electric kettle after leaving my regular kettle boiling dry on the stove. I looked at all the reviews on Amazon and choose this one. I'm very happy with it. It's easy to fill (I removed the filter by the spout since I brew my tea in the kettle too and didn't want it to turn yellow). The swivel base is great and makes it easy to grab with either hand (there is a leftie in my house but she isn't old enough to make tea yet). It heats so much faster than my old stove top kettle.Customer Review: great kettle

After growing up with a mum who used a electric kettle exclusively for her tea water, I got nostalgic and decided to get one. Well, I'll never go back to a stove kettle again. It boiled water almost instantly and the screen in the spout keeps hard water minerals out of my morning tea. No more slug at the bottom of the cup. It works silently (my mum's made a lot of noise) and I can see exactly how much water is in the kettle instantly. I highly recommend this kettle. Like other reviewers, our kettle started to leak after 8 months. Too bad, as I absolutely loved the kettle. After reading all the negative reviews about the customer service, I guess I will end up trashing it instead of trying to get it replaced. The real shocker is, we paid $36 for this kettle on Amazon. It is now selling for $130!!! I can't recommend anyone buying this kettle for that amount of money. Functionality: generous capacity, boils up quickly. I like the auto- off feature when the boil reaches the peak. Reheats quickly. I am mindful to pour out remaining water to keep the bottom from collecting sediment on the elements.
Style: Black is nice accent to the counter decor. On-Off button feature above the handle is nice touch. I like the "cordless" when lifting and taking to table.
Looking at this as a long term companion in our household.

This is a fantastic product. Used multiple times per day, super quick and convenient. No plasticy smell after the first day or two of use and no heating elements submerged in the water. Auto-off, great safety feature. No annoying whistle. One button operation - no settings, no displays to read, it's on or it's off! Kettle lifts free of the base so it's completely cordless when serving or refilling. Rubberized handle never gets hot. Stylish black design, too. Brilliant.
