Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Braun Multiquick 3 K650 Kitchen Machine 600 WattCustomer Review: Really great machine Summary: 5 Stars
We've had this food processor for just a short time, but it has already become indespinsable in our kitchen. I read every review I could find on this and the better known cuisinart machines, and this one has a better package of features. Others have noted the variable speed control. This may not seem like a big deal. It is.
I also agree that this is a very quiet food processor. I think that's because it's belt driven. The motor is housed in the tower to the left of the bowl which also locks the lid in place.
The thin slicer is very thin - almost too thin I'd say. We've ordered the adjustable slicer and will almost certainly use it much more.
You can also fill this with liquids much higher than other machines. Spillage isn't a problem.
Two gripes, though not enough to take away a star: First, I wish Amazon would carry this so that it could be purchased with free shipping with Prime. Currently you can only buy it through marketplace. I found it about $15 less somewhere else, so I didn't purchase it through Amazon. Second, the accessories (blades, replacement parts) seem to be a little hard to find on the internet. Most of what I found was in Canada or Europe.
Unlike every other machine made in China, this one was manufactured in Hungary. Don't know whether or not that matters, but there it is.
Most of our other kitchen appliances were wedding gifts from 20 years ago. This seems to be better constructed that anything else we've got, so hopefully we'll enjoy using this a good long time.
Customer Review: Worth the Wait! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had dreams of owning a food processor for years. I was always hovering around the Kitchen-aid and Cuisinart models, thinking that was the way I needed to go.
Well after searching and reading lots of reviews I went with this model from Braun and I couldn't be happier.
I love it!
I love it!
Here is what I've done with it so far:
-Made Ravioli dough using the dough hook. That thing is TOUGH! I couldn't believe that machine was strong enough to power through that thick dough and do it so thoroughly. We made delicious raviolis from the dough. The dough was a Bob's Red Mill semolina flour.
-Made Hummus with the chopping blade. The chopping blade is a ninja warrior. I use that for everything. I've made bread crumbs, quick salsas, pesto, tried milling flaxseed but the coffee grinder was better for that, fruit smoothies. I have a VitaMIX blender and now I never use it, this processor does the blender work as well.
-I've used the slicer for slicing zucchini slices and a few other things, carrots I believe. I wasn't in love with the slicing abilities, but I think I want to try the adjustable slicer soon.
-I haven't used the whipping attachment or the grating or the juicer top.
Tough, quiet and awesome. I'd buy it again if I could.
Customer Review: Love My CombiMax Summary: 5 Stars
I am very satisfied with this purchase. I see it's $147 now, down from $181: I'm still happy with my purchase :) I purchased this item in May 2010 and wasn't sure if I was making the right choice. The processor wasn't overly expensive but what if it didn't meet my expectations? My expectations were exceeded. There are numerous speeds and settings on the processor that have allowed me to do big tasks in no time. The clean up isn't bad at all. I was a little confused by the juicer. When I saw the description I thought I was getting a juicer and food processor in one. A juicer was included but it's the typical juicer that can be used for oranges, lemons, etc. No heavy duty juicer was included. But hey you can't have everything for only $181. Braun is a great manufacturer and they made a great food processor with the K650 CombiMax!
I am so happy with this purchase and very pleased with the seller who sent the item before the anticipated delivery date in the condition as described.
I would recommend this seller and this brand (Braun).Braun K650 CombiMax Food Processor 600 Watts
Customer Review: Just a little disappointed Summary: 4 Stars
I got this food processor a few weeks ago. So far I have tried making pumpkin soup, potato pancakes, and bread dough in it. I have also tried chopping raw chicken and chopping and slicing vegetables. The machine is a lightweight compared to the Kitchenaide I used to have, but for the most part that is OK.
PLUSES: I like the variable speed but I'm not sure that having that changes the final results. Having a truly deep work bowl is very nice. It did a good job of grinding the chicken (which was partly frozen). The bread dough came out fine. The fine grater disk was awesome for making the potato pancakes.
MINUSES: The thing that disappointed me is the slicing disks. I tried slicing leeks--they simply didn't work with any slicer at any speed--I wound up doing them by hand. I can't remember slicing leeks in my Kitchenaide but I seem to think it would work--it surprised me that it didn't work in the Braun. Also, I have a small kitchen and not much counter space, and it does take up some space.
Overall, I am please with the product for the price I paid and I hope it will last a long time.
Customer Review: A Wonderful Addition to My Kitchen Summary: 5 Stars
I really love this machine. Without all the hype (and price) of the better known processors, this 600 watt marvel does it all. It shreds and grates cheese both hard and semi soft exactly the way I like to use/serve them. The Pecorino romano is grated perfectly for pasta topping or infusion and mozzarella is easily shredded into pieces that melt and bubble quickly. It whips cream into voluminous peaks, egg whites the same, chops meat and vegetables and has replaced my mandoline for all my slicing needs. I had to order the thick slicer blade and the french fry cutter separately, but it came with every other attachment including a citrus juicer which extracts like a charm. I keep it on a metal kitchen rack because I have no counter space. It sets up and comes down easily. I had a Cuisinart processor a few years ago and for a lot of reasons, hardly ever used it. I have done without one since but am so very glad I purchased this. I really enjoy its ease, capabilities and huge power.
