I've seen some "so-so" reviews on this product but mine has been FANTASIC. It is my favorite kitchen tool. I have had one for 6 years, used it all of the time, dropped it a few times so the plastic cup is no longer pretty. I took my first model to the lake house because I don't like to be without it. I bought a second one. True to some of the complaints the cord in the back loosened and caused a short (after a year). I bought another... It is a great product. I would like to see them continue to make it, maybe they need to beef up the model to be sure it works consistently as I have seen some "less-than-perfect" reviews. I feel compelled to defend and recommend this great kitchen tool!Customer Review: Exceeded my expectations

My mixer went kaput during Christmas cookie baking, so I needed a replacement in a hurry. I thought the mixer would probably be decent, but didn't think I'd get much use from the chopper or blender. I was wrong. The chopper is so handy, and works great. I can't believe what a timesaver it is for jobs like chopping nuts or crushing cookie crumbs. I've also used the blender and was very pleased with that also. Both the regular mixer and dough hooks work great. Everything is simple to use and clean,(right in the dishwasher, if you like). The price seems very reasonable to me especially with the wonderful bonuses of the chopper and blender. My first Braun Multimix 4in1 Hand Mixer lasted over 12 years. Unfortunately, it was damaged during my last move. When I couldn't find it anywhere, I tried 2 other hand helds to do it's job but they did not perform as well nor did they last. If you make cakes, bread & do a lot of fine chopping of vegetables, garlic, ginger & onion, you will have to replace this little wonder with some of those humongous food processors or mixers. Clean up is a whiz. Motor unit is wiped clean & the parts go into the dish washer. It stays on my counter & I use it everyday. Big job, little job, it gets it done and done fast & easy! Thank you Amazon for still selling this amazing product.

While it works, I love this mixer. Feels sturdy, balanced, and doesn't have the little exhaust grill that other handmixers have the collect goo. Except from bread dough, I barely use my stand mixer. The chopper is great for small jobs & salad dressings. The blender I use all the time to puree baby food or soup instead of waiting for it to cool, and getting my blender dirty.
But my SECOND multimix has just stopped working on the 2 low speeds. Each mixer lasted 3-4 years. I'm so disappointed that a Braun appliance has failed not once, but twice. And from the other reviews I've read, this is obviously a common problem that they should have fixed by now!!

I do not have this new model, but rather an older version. I can honestly say this hand mixer has been a workhorse in my kitchen for over 13 years. I have a larger Kitchen-Aid stand mixer which is great for big jobs, but on small jobs and chopping, nothing beats this mixer. In addition to heavy use of the mixer attachment, I find the chopping attachment particularly useful for everything from salsa to salad dressing to cutting vegetables. Again, I don't think mine is the M880 (if it is, it is a MUCH earlier version!), but I can say that my little mixer continues to power on. It was a worth while investment 13+ years ago, and continues to work hard for me today!
