I bought one of these many years ago. It worked as a mixer for less than 2 years. I had to replace the mixer, but I couldn't find one with the same type of beater blades. The blades on this model are extremely easy to clean. I never really used the dough hooks as I have a bread machine and a full-size Kitchenaid mixer. The blender/chopper parts still work (maybe that's the one speed referred to in other reviews). I'm thinking about getting the Braun MR430HC just so I won't have to store two small mixers. I'd always thought of Braun as a quality name. I'm not sure if I want to reward them for making a product with a such a short life by buying another of theirs. The blender/chopper parts work really well. You can even fluff up milk for cappuccinos if you don't have a steamer. For the price, I guess one can consider it "replaceable" after two years. I'm old-fashioned. I want it to last at least 10 years. It worked well while it worked.Customer Review: Best handmixer available @ any price

I'm not one to write reviews, but this product deserves kudos from me. I know that packaging text will indicate that this mixer is not suitable for institutional use, but we use this model exclusively in our bakery for small mixing jobs not suitable for our 12qt mixer. We have tried all of the higher priced *******-Aid and O*str products but they failed in less than a year's worth of use. The secret is the direct drive motor assembly.
No plastic gears to strip or metal gears to fail. These units would last almost indefinetly if it were not for the failure of the speed switch. It will reach a point where all you have is high speed and pulse and we have used them in this condition until the switch fails completely, but the motor never, ever fails. Plenty of torque for the thickest, heaviest batter. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the issue with the switch, which may be due in part to our extensive use.

The Braun M880 Multimix was purchased to replace an older hand mixer that had burned out from use over the years. I was merely looking for a heavy duty mixer that would hold up well. I got that and a lot more. After choosing this model solely based on the reviews of the mixer, my wife had sarcastically commented that only I could have found a hand mixer with so many attachments (based on my love of gadgets). Since then she has raved about the food processor attachment and what a great job it does. We have used both the mixers as well as the bread hooks. We haven't used the hand blender attachment as of yet, although it seems as solid as any stand alone hand mixer on the market.
The only feature that is missing is an all inclusive stand that would hold the mixer and each of the attachements. Currently once out of the box there are a number of pieces that could get misplaced and be difficult to find when needed.

A+++ This is a terrific mixer combination!!! With a family of 10, we do A LOT of baking and cooking; homemade bread, lots of muffins, sweet breads, and DOZENS AND DOZENDS OF COOKIES!! When our previous mixer died, I spent a long time studying my options for replacement.
I didn't want anything made in China, so that cut my options considerably. I did want lots of power, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for it. This mixer is made in Spain (says so right on the box) and is powerful as well as affordable.
For the money - it's a sturdy, strong, and very versatile combination. The hand blender attachment works wonderfully for smoothies, etc. and the mini food processor is a real gem. Chops up onions and peppers at the blink of an eye! What a time saver.
If you're in the market for a new electric hand mixer - this a definitely worth considering. It's a great bargain.

First of all, I have had this for over a year now and never used the bread hooks so this isn't a review of that aspect.
I mainly got this b/c I needed a new hand mixer and since it had good reviews figured might as well get some other features that I may use from time to time. To my surprise, I find myself using the hand blender and mini food processor as much, if not more than the hand mixer. Obviously the processor is no substitute if you have a larger "real" appliance but I don't and I have no desire or need to get a bigger one. It may take a little longer for certain recipes but it's still way faster than hand chopping. The blender feature is really nice for soups and sauces.
My husband informed me that typically Braun's have really good motors and I feel that for the quality the price is good even for a hand mixer alone. With the added (actually useful) extras it is a very good deal.
