I just received the unit yesterday and usually wouldn't take the time to write a review but felt compelled to respond to the weak coffee complaint from some critics. I like my coffee strong and this unit has no problem providing it. I have used two brands(Maxwell House and Eight O'Clock) with equal success using the gold filter. Let me stress; weak coffee is NOT AN ISSUE. Another important criteria for me is hot coffee and this unit excels here as well. As I have only had it two days I will update this review if needed.Customer Review: Very satisfied

This product suits our needs to a T. No electronics to fail except a 2hr shutoff which is a good safety feature. The carafe is easy in and out, does not spill when you pour, and has an ergonomic handle. It brews fast and delivers hot coffee. It is a militta style basket (good) with swing-out easy access. Bottom line is that it is very functional while being tasteful and doesn't cost a fortune. The one and only drawback was that we would have preferred a white coffee maker. Oh, well, it's the coffee that counts.Customer Review: weak coffee

While the overall design of the maker is great -- the carafe pours without dripping, parts remove and fit well, and it looks great -- the new "fast brew" system pushes the water through much too quickly, resulting in a very weak cup of coffee. Even putting in more beans than usual did not help improve the coffee to our liking. If you like your coffee strong, as I do, I would highly recommend against any of the AromaDeluxe models. The photos speak for themselves; this is an attractive, sleek coffee maker. Not unimportant since it sits out on the counter all of the time. This is nice, but the coffee is what it is all about! This one doesn't let us down. It is very fast- brews a four cup half-pot in about three minutes. A full pot is a little longer but much faster than my Cuisinart. The quality of the coffee is very good. It comes with a gold tone filter and a water filter. Both help, but are optional in daily use.Customer Review: Great tasting coffee, simple to use

Prior to getting the Braun, I was using a 10-year old coffeemaker that had been in use way too long. I didn't think it was possible to get such a smooth tasting cup of coffee at home, but now I know different. The water filter makes tap water tolerable, and the burner keeps it hot hot for a long time. I wasn't able to use the gold-tone filter since it let small coffee particles pass through, so I just use the #4 Mellitta paper filters. Works great, I'd definitely recommend to anyone!
