Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Braun KF510-WH AromaDeluxe 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White

Customer Review: Great fast HOT coffee
Summary: 5 Stars

This machine replaced my 20 year old Krups. I had used a "free" coffee maker from Gevalia, which turned out to be flimsy and made mediocre coffee, but it did look great! This machine has been worked twice a day for the last 8 months and creates fast, good tasting and hot coffee. I must add that our Krups coffee cooled over the years and the "Free" machine I used also made warm, not hot coffee. The only thing you need to pay attention to is pouring the correct amount of water into the tank, as it has to pass through the filter, so I find it easier and more accurate to fill the decanter up to the cup-line indicator instead of viewing the nice water indicator on the side of the machine. There are no timers or clocks or strength indicators, just a sturdy on/off switch that glows red when on. I absolutely recommend this sturdy machine - you could spend (a lot) more and not get a better cup of coffee .

Customer Review: Still Great Years Later!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this coffee maker for about 4-5 years and it is still working great. Its simple, uncomplicated design works well. It comes apart easily to clean, makes a full pot quickly and keeps it hot. A visitor to my house once asked me if it makes "hot" coffee so I actually tested it with a thermometer. It brewed at about 175 degrees and remained at that temp 20 minutes later. I have had to buy a replacement carafe once after it broke in my sink and I came on today to find replacement filters. Other than that it looks brand new. The lid is not stained and the hot plate is not scratched so it will hopefully remain dependable and have more years of use. I had thought about getting a dispenser style coffee maker, but after having one at work I realized that it would be harder to keep clean. I'm very happy with this product.

Customer Review: Excellent in its price range
Summary: 5 Stars

I particularly wanted a cone basket, which surprisingly was not as common among coffeemakers as I thought, and I did not want to pay too much. This fit the bill. A bonus for me has been the design of the cone basket; it sits firmly on the counter and so is easy to fill. (Perhaps it has been so long since I have bot a coffeemaker that this is not an innovation, but I have memories of the cone baskets easily tipping over when filling.) It would be helpful to have an auto shutoff, but the large, well-placed, power button makes for an easy reminder that the pot is still on -- so long as you are in the kitchen! The inclusion of a Brita filter is probably a good idea, but I am not sufficiently informed as to the quality of my city water to know if I need this. All in all I found this to be an excellent product.

Customer Review: Get it now or never
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great basic coffee maker. If you do it right, and don't skimp on the coffee, it makes a smooth, rich, robust cup of coffee. Definitely the best coffee maker of its type, and in its price range, on the market today. WARNING: If you want this coffee maker buy it NOW. Braun is no longer selling any of their products in the United States and what is available now is what was in warehouses when they stopped selling here. We bought a spare of this coffee maker so that when one inevitably goes out we will have a spare.
I'm not kidding, I searched high and low to find my backup coffee maker and, as near as I can tell, there are about 21 of them, new, left for sale anywhere in the U.S.

Customer Review: Fine little coffeemaker
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best everyday-use coffee maker I've ever owned. It's very well designed and it's easy to use. The thing you put the coffee in (it must have a name but I don't know it) has a flat bottom. So if you want to set it on the counter while putting the coffee in, it'll stand by itself.

I love the rubber grip on the carafe too. (See? I knew the name for that part!) It's also the only carafe I've used that doesn't drip when pouring. How'd they manage that?

My only nitpick is that the on/off switch has a really light touch, and it's easy to bump it and turn it on accidentally.

I love this machine. When/if it dies before I do, I'll buy another one.
