Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Braun Brita Patented KWF2 Water Filter (2-Pack)Customer Review: Not a very good filter Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased six of these as the first replacement I had made to the original filter. After purchasing our Braun coffee maker, we used the filter for two months and could no longer find replacements. We removed the filter and used the stock insert from there on out. We ended up finally deciding to use a faucet mounted Pur filtering system so we could filter water for normal drinking as well. Finally, 1+ year later, we thought about the filters again and were able to find them. I bought six of them and installed the first one yesterday. This morning, I bypassed my Pur 3-stage filter and used normal tap water, relying on the Brita filter. My coffee is terrible. I roast my own coffee so my wife and I always look forward to the best cup in the morning. Coffee yesterday was as wonderful as it has always been. This morning, it's bitter and I'm left with a constant bitter after taste in my mouth. This filters do not do much filtering.
Customer Review: Caution ! Replacement Braun Water Filters Defective Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered the cheap replacement Braun coffeemaker water filters and they are not Braun or Brita. They were purchased at Amazon from Goodmans as their part no. BR-FLF, but on Amazon they appear in advertising as a Braun or Brita Product. This filter produced filtered water that is dark colored and with fine particulates on the presoak. Of course, I wouldn't use this water to drink or put into my coffeemaker for fear of health concerns or damage to the coffeemaker. I am not suprised to see the reviews that found no difference using this type of filter on coffee flavor. Since I didn't get around to using these horrible filters till several months after my purchase, I am not expecting a refund. I have used many original Braun coffeemaker filters in past, and none have had this problem. They always produce clear water on the presoak.
Customer Review: Brita filters for better coffee Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Braun coffee maker before realizing that the appliance used a Brita filter. Initially skeptical, I've come to see the value in the approach. First, I think the coffee tastes better as the water, drawn through the filter, is purified and any "taste" is eliminated before it is distributed through the grounds. You get the flavor of the coffee, not the flavor of the coffee and the local water. Second, the filter prevents the formulation of build up within the coffee maker. You know the "white stuff" that forms inside the machine after awhile that's hard to remove? You don't get that with the filter. The filters last for a couple of months and they are really easy to replace. I'm sold!
Customer Review: Thank You, Amazon! Summary: 5 Stars
I used to buy these filters locally for my Braun Flavor Select, but, when I moved, I could not find a source. I am so glad I've found them here because I wouldn't want to do without them.Although the Flavor Select does come with a dummy cartridge to place where the filter belongs, it is well worth your while to use the water filters. I was going through coffee pots every couple of years because of hard water deposits in the lines - and vinegar cleanings did not help. The filters have kept my Braun brewing coffee without ever having to use vinegar or other methods of interior cleaning. While I can't say that my coffee tastes better, I can attest that these filters have lengthened the life of my brewer.
Customer Review: Great for our Braun Coffee Maker Summary: 5 Stars
We have hard water and although I flush out our coffee maker frequently, these Braun Brita filters do help in preventing so much calcium deposits from accumulating.
These particular filters are difficult to find in the stores and why I purchase them from [...].
Additional Note: I checked my order from Amazon for these filters and they were under $10.00 each. There has to be a price error on these filters. Stop and think, filters Braun recommends be changed every two to three months cost more than the coffee maker! No...don't pay this ridiculous price! Buy a new coffee maker every few months...just kidding folks! The suggestion is about as silly as the filter price! :)
