Customer Review: A good conversation piece

A good conversation piece. For the money, it's a great deal and it looks really cool. This is an authentic replica. And that's really part of the problem with this corkscrew. Modern corkscrews are hollow shafted and follow the spiral down into the cork. This beast will get your cork out and look classy doing it but it's got a bit like an auger and chews away. Kind of reminds me of a well driller. The handles are a tad bit loose but they work. All in all, this will appeal to American Civil War reenactors and staunch traditionalists. The average person wanting to open a bottle of wine would be better served to buy a laguiole type corkscrew.
