I bought one of these torches (not the set with the ramekins) off eBay, new in box, in late 2007 for around $12 shipped. I wasn't expecting much because of the cost and just needed a handheld locking self-igniting torch for soldering. I used this torch numerous times until late 2009 when it simply stopped igniting, unfortunately! I used this torch for lighting fires in the fireplace, soft soldering (using flux & solder), melting pennies (just to show people how hot it'd get) and I'm sure there's more stuff I used it for that I cannot recall at the moment. I don't recall if I checked the reviews here before making my eBay purchase (for the same torch model) but as disappointed as I was when the torch broke (after 2 years of use) I was more delighted with the things I did with the torch during the duration it was working. I'm actually looking into one of the torches with the fuel indicator as it's a pain not knowing how much butane is left which, while soldering, WILL leave you hanging. I am, however, quite pleased with this model torch and would get another if it had a fuel indicator.
