THIS BODUM CHOCOLATIERE GLASS CHOCOLATE MAKER / FROTHER does not froth too well. The "propeller" insert does try -- but it's not powerful enough to give the nice, high froth that's usually wanted.
That said, the caraf itself is quite nice. It's large enough to carry drinks for 4-5 people, is made of GLASS, (and heat-retaining, Bodum glass at that), and has a pleasant appearance at the table. It is also quite easy to clean. The Bodum glass, however, is very delicate, and extra care must be taken, when using and cleaning it.
So, if you want a GLASS caraf, (not plastic, or Tupperware plastic, or stainless steel or aluminum), and can find no other one that's this large, or easy-to-clean, and don't mind the extra care that has to be taken with this admittedly thin and delicate glass, do buy one!
P.S.: ANOTHER POSSIBLE USE
If you have no other purpose for it, you can even use it as a FISH-BOWL!
Unlike most fish-bowls, this one will come with a handle, for easy transport -- and you can look at your fish, close-up, whenever you choose!
Just be careful to replace the cover of the caraf with one that has cut-outs, and will allow extra air to come through, and/or leave the top open, and, of course, under NO circustances, use the "propeller" while the fish are in the bowl!

Considering peoples love affair with chocolate, BODUM designed a delightful chocolate jug with unique blender-like qualities. The BODUM design significantly differs from classic ceramic or porcelain chocolate jugs but is still reminiscent of grandma's milk jug in form and shape. Chocolate milk is growing popular with children and grown-ups alike. The cleverly devised manual blender of the Chocolatiere consists of a propeller attached to a spiral rod that smoothly mixes the chocolate or chocolate powder, producing a rich froth. This makes it a fun-to-use tool, ensuring the best mixed chocolate milk ? the sinful temptation par excellence! The handle and the jug are made of heat-resistant, see-through borosilicate glass. The lid is made of stainless steel and plastic with a silicone gasket for better tightness. All parts are dishwasher safe. The manual blender can be fully disassembled for better cleaning. Fine drinking chocolate is becoming more and more popular across the US. Now with the Chocolatiere now you can make drinking chocolate at home. Just cut up some fine chocolate and place it into the jug. Fill the jug with warm milk, set the lid in place and move the plunger up and down until you have a nice mixed chocolate and foam. For an even easier method, put cold milk into the microwave safe borosilicate glass jug and heat the milk in the microwave. Then just add the chocolate and froth. If you let the chocolate milk sit for a few minutes between servings it will naturally start to separate ? that's ok. Just plunge a few times to mix everything back up.
