Customer Review: Great Product - Just Wish It Wasn't Breakable!

This was the 2nd coffee press for me. The first one was bought over 5 years ago and I broke the beaker last year. I searched all over to find a replacement beaker, which I finally found at Starbucks for $15, and then broke the second beaker last month. I ordered the complete product (w/s&H) for less than $20 via Amazon and couldn't be happier. We use it every day.Customer Review: Coffee Lover's Dream!!!

BEWARE, though! French Presses generate a sludge at the bottom of every cup. It's part of the charm, but increases in volume with a decrease in the quality grind! If you're serious about coffee, spend the extra $$$ and buy a good burr grinder!

WARNING: This item contains #7 plastic in the top filter (the black part in the picture.) If you want your daily dose of BPA each time you pour hot coffee through the filter, this is the french press for you! Nowhere does Bodum list that they make their presses with dangerous plastics. Why they couldn't just go with stainless steel for the top filter is beyond me.Customer Review: Love this coffee maker

For me, it makes two cups of coffee or a big 16-18 oz cup, just the amount of coffee I like to drink. Very good quality. The plunger is made of stainless steel, not cheap plastic. Though you have to handle it with more care as the glass is not unbreakable.
So simple to use and clean. The best of all, it makes the same great coffee as those $$$ machines.

The Bodum Chambord 4-Cup Coffee Press is a quality press that is simplicity itself. It makes wonderful coffee quickly and easily, and clean-up is a breeze! Can't recommend it enough. Just remember, "4 cups" is actually about 2, but for two people, it's perfect...you both get a fresh, hot cup, and then, if and when you're ready, you make another fresh, hot cup!
