Customer Review: Pretty darn good coffee maker

I rarely make more than one cup of coffee at a time, however, this will allow me to make two 8 ounce cups if I so desire. The only problem I have been experiencing is I have trouble getting the water to the right temperature. The instructions say to use hot, not boiling, water. I need to find some easy way to measure the temperature so I can pull my kettle off the stove before the water boils. Next you need to pour the water over the coarsely ground coffee and stir and let it sit for "at least four minutes". Then you use the press, pour and drink. Guess what?
After 4 minutes of steeping, the liquid starts cooling off and the result is that your coffee is not piping hot the way I like it. Then I have to put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. However, I must admit that the coffee tastes and smells pretty darn good.

Good coffee is made in a beautiful jewel-like kitchen tool. The whole coffee beans must be *coarse* ground; however, if the beans are excellent, the result will be good even if the dregs indicate some finer grind comes through. This 4 (European 4 oz.) cup device will make about 16 oz. of coffee at a time; and if the coffee beans are excellent, you can get half again as much on a second making (but the coffee will be thin--let it sit longer five to ten minutes the second time). If there are more than one to be served, one should go for the 8 cup or 12 cup version. I tried the dishwasher, but find that a plastic bowl with baking soda/dish detergent to clean by hand works best for me. The parts unscrew for easy cleaning. After using this size, I purchased the 8 cup (for the two of us) and gave this 4 cup to my single son.Customer Review: Bodum Chambord 4 cup Coffee Press

After tasting coffee from a press I had to have one. I researched several coffee presses and talked to a few people with a press and chose the Bodum Chambord 4 cup. Not too many things in life impress me but this does. This press will bring flavors out in mediocre coffee. When you buy one experiment with different coffees and you'll be surprised. I actually get up and make me some coffee and take 20 minutes every morning just to enjoy it and savor the taste, something I have never done before. The best part of waking up is my coffee! I recently searched for a moderate price and excellent coffee maker until I found a lot of good reviews about French press. I also heard about quality of grinds does make it difference. I made a decision to order a 4-cup French Press and a Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder 560 coffee grinder.
Today I received my Capresso and I grounded a french roast coffee coarse then made my first french press coffee. It was Strong and delicious. I never tasted a cup of coffee that good. I couldn't believe it.
The Press was easy to clean and just hand-washed it.
The strainer can be unscrewed and rinsed off easily.

Before you buy this item, make sure you dig for this seller's return policy because you can't return anything! I ordered this item as a gift and it arrived broken, probably because it was packaged incorrectly. However, they refuse to exchange it or allow me to return it! I think it's ridiculous given how expensive this item is, the fact that it's made of glass, which should make them package it better (honestly now, I've bought super fine crystal glasses online and they arrived without a scratch... there's ways to package things to insure they don't break in the mail!).
