What you have hear is a giant glass teabag. Tea goes in the insert which is placed in the larger glass which is itself filled with very hot water. The cover is placed and you watch the essence of the tea move from leaf to liquid. Conversation stops: it's remarkably absorbing.
When the tea is done, you take off the cover and place it face up on the table. Then you remove the insert and place it on the cover. Now you can enjoy drinking your tea.
The fact of my matter is that you could also throw the tea out, the ritual itself is so satisfying. Cleanup is a bit juicier than many would want and if you have company, everyone will need their own.

The Bodym Tea Infuser set is easy and functional. It's a true quality product that is also hip and stylistic in its design.
The set consists of:
canteen glass
filter insert
lid
Bodym uses borosilicate glass (silica and boron oxide) which makes it more resistant to thermal shock, e.g. they're stronger, less likely to crack and retain heat.
Easy and fun to use, with very little loose leaves left behind. I found it best to use true loose leaves, breaking up a tea bag will leave behind quite a few leaves.
I'm enjoying it more for herbal tea, it really is too small for a true cup of tea, but this works for me. I also think this will be fabulous to travel with!

Mrs. Rhodeymark says: I like this tea infuser. I found that the first cup of tea I made came out a little strong so I cut back on my usual portion of tea for the next cup and it was fine. The top became a little hot while steeping the tea; maybe if it was double walled like the cup it wouldn't be hot. I would use a tea towel when removing the cover. The overall design was nice, it was comfortable in my hands and easy to drink out of even with the double wall sides.
Rhodeymark adds: You certainly have to admire the hand blown craftsmanship, however, that also means that the slits in the infuser were hand cut with a saw. Ours was left with a slightly rough finish. Just an aesthetics nit, certainly not a hazard.

True to Bodum form, this individual-serving, six-ounce double wall glass thermal tea infuser has an aesthetically-pleasing appearance and it definitely gets the job done. The double wall glass keeps it from being too hot to the touch and the tea leaves steep quickly. We'd use it more, but the main problem with it as an everyday item is that it we're afraid we'll break it! Both the glass lid and the infuser insert, which aren't double glass, feel really fragile, to the point that we're reluctant to use it for ourselves--but it always manages to impress guests! So it gets five stars for special occasions but only three stars for personal, everyday use, which averages out to four stars.Customer Review: "Nice," but too small...

This cup/infuser/lid set is very classy - it is beautiful, the cup is double-walled thin glass, making it hold heat very well, the infuser has little slits cut into the bottom that only let the smallest of leaves through, and the lid can act as a tray for the infuser when you pull it from the cup.
Why not more stars? It is *way* too small. We usually make cups of tea at least twice this size (I think my wife has several mugs that are 16+ ounces). Also, it is very thin glass - not something I would recommend for everyday use.
So if you enjoy smaller cups of tea, and want something presentable and beautiful, then this is a good product.
