Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Bodum Canteen 6-Ounce (0.18-Liter) Double Wall Glass Thermal Tea Infuser SetCustomer Review: Great if you like swilling down tea leaves! Summary: 3 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I just purchased a variety of loose tea and was looking forward to trying this product. It's ideal for a cup of tea, but a cup for me is 12 oz! After reading all the glowing reviews, I'm wondering if my set if defective because with every cup I have brewed there's quite a bit of tea that escapes, and I have to strain the tea into another cup because I don't like particles floating around in anything I'm drinking. I can actually get a fingernail through the filter slits so it doesn't strain the tea very well. It is a nice looking set, and I think it's a great idea, but in my opinion for $25 I shouldn't have to strain the tea to get the leaves out. So it's back to the tea ball and tea filters for me.
Update: 1 Star
After trying to work with this thing, I just chucked it in the trash. Tea leaves escape through the filter regardless of the size of the leaf. I brewed a full leaf oolong tea and still had to strain it. This product needs to go back to the drawing board, and it loses two more stars.
Customer Review: Beautiful, Functional, but Breakable and Pricey. Summary: 4 Stars

My husband is a coffee and tea aficianado and is already a huge fan of Bodum's Pavina 2-Ounce Double-Wall Thermo Glasses (Espresso/Shot), Set of 2. When this little baby arrived in the mail, his eyes lit up.
Like Bodum's other insulated glasses, it's gorgeous and keeps its contents hot (or cold, for that matter). As others have reported, the infuser works beautifully for large-leafed loose teas and with a bit of leaf leakage for finely-leafed ones.
My main concern is its breakability-to-cost ratio. We lose an espresso cup (about an $8 investment) every few months-- they shatter into a thousand pieces if dropped or even bumped too roughly against our sink. If/when this infuser breaks, you'd be out three or four times that much. Ouch.
However, it'd be a beautiful, luxurious gift for a loose tea lover-- something they might not be willing to buy for themselves because of its delicacy.
Customer Review: The Ideal Way to Brew a Cup Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Simply put, this Bodum infuser is superior to every one cup tea strainer out there. My wife and I are dedicated tea drinkers. We have used all manner of tea strainers from worthless tea balls to very good, deep, stainless steel baskets, to the mesh strainers that sit on top of the cup. This Bodum, though, beats them all.
First, it is roomy enough to give the leaves plenty of room to move around and properly infuse the hot water. Second, the infuser insert is extremely easy to remove. Third, the double wall cup means you can pick up your cup of tea without singing your fingers. Finally, because everything is glass, it is easily cleaned and leaves no residue that can affect the taste of future cups. Having a lid on top while the brewing occurs is a very nice feature, as well.
The only possible low point is that if you brew with smaller leaves a small amount of sediment will pass through the infuser but no more (and probably less) than with other infusers. Doesn't bother me, though.
Customer Review: A great solution for loose tea Summary: 5 Stars

Anyone who prefers loose tea to bags will appreciate this infuser set. And because it's as useful for making single cups as it is for use with your teapot, you never again have to worry about throwing out perfectly good tea just because it got cold.
Just fill the infuser with however much tea you want to use -- I tend to overfill so I can use it for single cups throughout the day -- and place in a cup or pot of hot water. The lid is handy for use with a pot as it closes off the top to keep the water hot while the tea steeps. Not so much for a cup, but once you put the infuser back into its glass, clap the lid on and the tea will stay moist and clean while it waits to be used again.
Bodum is generally a very reliable company, so I don't honestly expect this item to give up the ghost any time soon. And it's pretty to look at, too. Good design is pretty, and this is good design.
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Very nice but small for my uses Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a very nice and well designed product.
The all-clear-glass design makes it stylish - a good choice for a present. It also allows you to see the actual color of the tea.
The double wall construction works to keep the outside cool and the tea hot. The cover keeps it hot while steeping and also provides a convenient tray for the strainer.
The one disadvantage of the glass is that the holes in the strainer are slightly too large, and I ended up with a few leaf fibers in my tea, even with a top quality second flush Darjeeling tea. But it did brew a very fine cup of tea.
Also, I usually drink 10-12 ounces of tea at a sitting, so this particular product is too small for my uses, although the product is clearly identified as being that size. But I think the product would be better if it were 12 ounces in volume, and then those who prefer less tea could simply pour it half full.
