Customer Review: Is the platic filter safe to use with boiling water?

This tea press works fine to me. However, whenever I pour boiling water into plastic filter, it comes to mind if it is safe to use for drinking. Hot water may leach out some harmful materials from polycarbonate filter to tea. It reinforces me after I found out that Bodum introduces recently stainless filter in other tea press model, which is slightly more expensive. I just got this in the mail today and it is beautiful! I also bought some tea samplers to go along with it. Sadly enough, I was drying it off after washing it for the first time, and yes, I dropped it... so there goes $30 into the garbage almost instantly after taking it out of the box. On a side note, the handle is glued on very well, It was stuck to a big chunk of glass; even after falling four feet.Customer Review: EASY TO USE, GREAT TEA!

This tea press is very easy to use, and makes great tea. You just need to add the appropriate amount of tea to the basket, add boiling water, let the tea brew for about five minutes (black tea), and press the plunger, which isolates the tea leaves in the bottom of the basket preventing excess brewing. This way you never get bitter tea! This pot is big enough to make a thermos of tea.Customer Review: Best Tea Press ever!

I purchased this to replace a glass teapot I broke. I really didn't expect to like this pot as much as I do. It washes very nicely, and with the short spout, you don't need a separate brush for cleaning. I does keep tea hot longer, without a cosy. I like this teapot so much, that if I should unfortunately break it, I will replace it with the identical product.Customer Review: Teapot with a press

Really liked the press, as it controlled the loose tea much better than a tea ball. Also the clear glass with the modern swedish look is attractive and clean looking. Tea pots can be very unattractive inside, but this one makes the tea look very inviting. If you like loose tea, and clean looking service, this is definitely the one to purchase.
