Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Bodum Assam 4-Cup Tea Press TeapotCustomer Review: Size matters Summary: 4 Stars
I've been happy with this teapot - does what it advertises, cleans up easily, keeps the tea warm for a while, especially if you cover it up (I use a knitted winter hat to snug down over and it stays warm at least an hour.)
The only caution - if you order the 4 cup size, be aware that you must make at least 3 cups of tea, otherwise the water level will not reach the tea leaves. If you routinely make less than 3 cups at a time, get the smaller size and brew it up twice if you need to occasionally make more.
Customer Review: Great product--one caveat Summary: 4 Stars
This is a good product and works really well, and amazon has a great price on it; however, be advised that the infuser is PLASTIC, so if you make flavored teas in it, the flavor lingers. My advice to people who drink more than one kind of tea is to spring for the more expensive stainless steel infuser. One other minor issue--it ought to come with a separate lid for serving in case you remove the infuser to add something to the pot (milk, for example). There's no way to have it covered when the infuser is removed.
Customer Review: Bodum DOES NOT STAND BEHIND BEWARE!!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
BEWARE! FYI-I had loved this pot until the clear plunger piced cracked and would not screw on to the plunger stick. The plastic that the metal rod screws in to is very thin. After calling Bodum direcly I found out they do not carry replacement parts. The told me I would have to buy a whole new teapot. I find this totally frustrating that a company would not carry replacement parts or stand by it's product. I will NEVER purchase another Bodum product again. I also did not like their customer service reps.
Customer Review: tea press great for new users and old hands Summary: 5 Stars
I love my bodum tea press, so when a friend told me that she enjoys loose tea but never has it because 1. she thought it was complicated to make loose tea and 2. the mess in the teapot, I sent her the 4-cup bodum tea press to try. She found it very easy to use and especially, to clean! You can use a teabag with it too and I think the room in the teapot (as opposed to putting it in a cup) makes the flavour better. Bodum make a smaller, 2-cup press too, which is what I have.
Customer Review: A necessity for any tea lover Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite things in my kitchen. It is the perfect size for one person who wants more than one or two cups of tea. It's nice looking and retains heat well (I wrap mine in a tea towel and it works just great) without being too hot to hold. The ONLY thing I would change about this is I wish the holes on the infuser part were a tiny bit smaller- some of my finer black teas sneak through sometimes, but nothing one of those strainer thingies can't help!
