Customer Review: Don't Even Bother

This is a crappy mixer all round. We got ours 2 months ago, paid like $20. I've used it exactly 3 times, twice to fluff mashed potatoes and today to make a quick bread mix. This mixer gave out completely in less than 2 minutes of regular mixing.
Called Black and Decker (actually the company that now makes their small applicances, Activia or something like that) and they said it was under warranty and offered to ship me another one.
At NO point during the conversation did the CSR mention that I'd be paying the company $10 for the "privilege" of replacing my $20 mixer. That was on a recorded message she made me listen to after I had given her all the relevant info. That amount added to what it would also cost me to ship part of the electrical cord to them to prove I had the item nearly makes up the entire price of the mixer all over again.
That was completely dishonest not to tell me up front about needing to send them a check. Needless to say I will not be sending them anything and I will NEVER buy anything with the Black and Decker name on it again.
This mixer was a disaster, a CHEAP ill-made item and the customer service at the company that makes them is even worse! Save your money. DON'T buy from them. This company is so NOT the Black and Decker of old and the quality of their items and customer service clearly reflects that!
FYI, my last mixer was a B&D and it lasted for nearly 15 years. I expected the same quality purchasing from them now.
So much for that!
