Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker JW200 Lids Off Jar Opener, WhiteCustomer Review: It looked like a winner Summary: 1 Stars
We are "seniors" and thought this would be the answer to our arthritic prayers...not so.
We tried it on 6 different jars. 3 of them did not fit. One had a smooth plastic lid that just slipped and would not open. It did open 2 out of the 6 but only smaller sizes.
In this day of "warehouse" purchases, we buy economical big jars and "Lids Off" lacked the height to even come close.
So unless its a basic "mayonaise" jar and/or has a knurled lid, you will be very disappointed as were we. In other words, it will only accomodate very limited sizes.
One more thing. Don't even think of trying an odd shapes, i.e. salad dressing jars.

Customer Review: MOM'S BIRTHDAY Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this little bottle opener and immediately felt my mom struggling (and hurting) to open a bottle or waiting for someone to arrive (I live 2 1/2 hours away). But she has a small kitchen, and hates getting "things" that will fill up any space she does have. Well her birthday isn't for 8 more months, but 8 months is a lot of struggles. I ordered it along with some other merchandise but had it shiped directly to her. This was supposed to be delivered in early May. Last week she called me at work to say thanks! She loves it and it really works on old tough lids.
Thanks
Customer Review: Don't you think that is overkill? Summary: 4 Stars
That is what my husband said when he first saw the jar opener. He told me that he would open any jar I needed open. (I need it because my thumb joint has an injury.) You already know what is coming. I handed him a jar and after struggling with it for a while, he stuffed it in and let electrical power have its way with the lid. If I have a complaint it would be the minor one that if I don't push the release button just right, it sticks. It does not stay stuck and when I press it again, it releases. This opener is my one countertop appliance. If you need it, you will really appreciate it.
Customer Review: Ingenious! Great for those whose hand strength has weakened! Summary: 5 Stars
The opener really does work!!! I bought this for my mother-in-law who has never regained proper use of her hand after surgery for carpal tunnel. She loves it. She can now open jars on "her own" without asking for help. I also bought one for my grandparents. They said they are able to buy certain jar foods again now that they can open them. It's nice to have a product that does what it says. Although, you need to watch the size jar you use. It doesn't allow for really wide or really tall jars. I recommend this product if you or anyone you know has a hard time opening jars!
