I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO EVERYONE AND MORE SO IF YOU ARE AT ALL INTEESTED IN NOT ONLY SHEDDING A FEW POUNDS BUT WANT TO LIVE AND EAT IN A HEALTHY WAY. HAVE USED MY STEAMER EVERYDAY SINCE I GOT IT FROM AMAZON.COM. AND HAVE INTRODUCED IT TO MY SWRRTY AND THEN SAT BACK AND WATCHED HOW MUCH HE ENJOYED THE MEAL. I'd forgotten how much I loved steamed veggies. I had a steamer before but not for the past 4 years. I've used it for rice and the rice was great! And the Flavor Scenter, what a great idea! I used it with oregano with two different kinds of squash. Delish! Also hard boiled eggs in it. Does tend to take a while to cook, so plan ahead. I purchased this unit because it was inexpensive and is supposed to also be a rice cooker. I was disappointed to find it takes 50 minutes to cook rice; way too long, and I'm returning it. So, this might be a fine steamer (it takes up to 12-21 minutes to steam things), it should not be considered a suitable rice cooker for anyone who cooks in less than an hour.Customer Review: Rice Rescue!

I have been wanting a rice steamer and am so happy to have treated myself to this B&D one! It really does a great job on rice, much better than the boil-in-the-pot rice I have always settled for. The rice is delicious after being steamed. It works wonderfully well on veggies too! I'm trying it on those dry boring boneless skinless chicken breasts next!Customer Review: Perfect for Vegetables!!

I am very please with this steamer and I use it almost every night. It's great for vegetables, I have perfectly cooked vegetables every time, and clean up is very easy. I like being able to put it straight in to the dishwasher.
I don't recommend it for rice, I find that it takes too long. I have a regular rice cooker that does a better job.
