We bought this steamer (combined with the Kidco electronic food mill) as an alternative to the Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker. Not only has it been great for steaming fruits and vegetables for baby food, we frequently use it to make rice too. It's great! The price was right, and it has a relatively small footprint, which is nice in our small kitchen. No complaints.Customer Review: Works great, But....

I had this unit for about a year. When it worked, it worked great! But,the internals rusted which caused a wire to break. This resulted in me getting shocked(big time) and knocked to the floor. They use a tin mounting plate for the wires-go figure. We were very carefull about cleaning this, too(as it says not to submerse the base). So, we were extremely pleased with it until it tried to kill me. We will try a different steamer next time. BEWARE THE SHOCK HAZARD!Customer Review: Terrific

This is an ideal steamer, i.e.,it is big enough to do large or small tasks. There's no healthier way to cook veggies than steaming & being vegan, I cook a lot of 'em, so the divider comes in very handy. Brown rice takes longer than it says; but cooks it perfectly. It does small red potatoes just right, divine carrots! My husband cooked dinner using it, & everything was delicious. I use only deionized water in the steamer bottom, so the burner won't corrode.Customer Review: best rice cooker

This is the second one of these that we have used. The first one we received as a gift about 8 years ago, and when it finally "expired" we were frantic to find another rice cooker. I was so excited when I found this one on Amazon. It was great to be able to get an exact replacement for our previous rice cooker. The rice always turns out great (whether it's wild rice, brown rice, white rice, etc). And the automatic shutoff is a great safety feature.Customer Review: great product

I bought this for my boyfriend who continually wished he had a steamer. Thinking that he would break it within a week, I went for the cheaper one. However, I would have paid so much more. It is perfect for making a little or a lot. It is easy to clean, easy to store and extremely easy to use. We even dropped it on the ground and it still worked perfectly. I love the rice maker as well.
