Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker DCM18 Brew 'N Go CoffeemakerCustomer Review: The perfect way to save $60+ a month! Summary: 5 Stars
Recently, going through my husband's bank statement, I saw more than $60 being spent at Dunkin' Donuts in a month! Considering I don't drink coffee, it was pointless to ask him to use our 8-cup coffee pot daily. Especially since he usually wakes up three minutes before he has to leave.
I bought him this for Christmas and he's been using it ever since. As long as I set it up for him the night before and remind him to press the button as soon as he gets up in the morning, he has his cup of coffee ready to go! It's been great--as long as he remembers to bring the travel mug home.
Speaking of the travel mug, it was a little smaller than I hoped. It fits a little over one regular mug of coffee. But, hey, as long as it saves even a portion of that $60 a month, I'm happy.
Customer Review: Great Coffee Maker for the money Summary: 5 Stars
The Brew 'N Go is a great deal for the quality of coffee it makes. I purchased this to make coffee at work and it is perfect. It is fast, small and easy to clean and brews a very good cup of coffee. I am pickier than your average Folgers drinker and this machine works very well even with your better specialty coffee's.(I prefer The Roasterie coffee) It includes a permanent filter which works great and is easy to clean, but it will also fit Melitta #1 filters perfect if you are not in to cleaning filters. The only thing that I was not impressed with was the travel mug it included. I felt it gave the coffee a plastic taste, but thats a minor point. Overall I think this coffee maker is the best thing going and it is cheaper than the popular POD brewers. I would buy another, no question.
Customer Review: The best buy ever in a single serve brewer Summary: 5 Stars
We have used this product for a number of years, and like freshly brewed coffee or tea three or more times a day. We always keep a new one in reserve in case B&W ever stops making it. The heater and filter will eventually wear and need to be replaced with a new brewer, but it will last several years under heavy use. The metal screen filter will accumulate a buildup of coffee and tea stain which can be cleaned with a small stiff brush while flushing with warm water. The brewing platform provides enough height to use a tall mug which is important for us tea drinkers who like a mug of tea to carry around. We heartily recommend the B&W coffee maker to all coffee and tea drinkers. There is nothing on the market at this price level that performs as well.
Customer Review: suits me just fine Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I needed something to get me going when I started teaching at 8am. I got this little coffee maker and it's just great. Not being the big coffee person, I like to put a lot of stuff in my coffee and found it's easy to adjust how much coffee it makes (I just fill up the mug a little more water than how much I want of coffee). I got some #1 filters here on Amazon because apparently I'm just lazy. I also got a different metal mug (BPA free) from Target that fits this coffee maker- it's kind of fat and short, so it works well. It makes really hot coffee but since I always put cold milk in it, it brings it down to the perfect temperature for immediate consumption. It only takes a few minutes to make, which is also a plus.
Customer Review: Nice personal coffee maker Summary: 4 Stars
I would give it five stars, except that the disk-like part with holes that drips water into the coffee basket gets coffee grounds splashed up onto it, creating a cleaning issue.
It makes a very good mug of coffee. I like the thermal mug because I don't like to have my coffee kept warm with a heater. It comes with a coffee filter with fine plastic mesh that has lasted for over a year so far.
I searched Amazon for a replacement coffee maker because I was tired of cleaning coffee grounds from the water dripper, but I haven't found anything that I like better -- so I decided to write a review. I guess that I will just have to use Maxwell House coffee packets to keep the coffee grounds from splashing up..
