Customer Review: Great little juicer!

Read reviews about this juicer and other more expensive brands. Most people seemed happy with this product so I followed suit. I love it! We have an orange tree that is so laden with fruit we have to beg people to take oranges from us. I've been juicing oranges with the CitrusMate for 2 months now, and so far no major problems. I regularly make 64 oz of juice at a time (about once a week), and the worst problem I've had is that sometimes I get carried away and press down too hard or the orange is a little deformed inside so the machine gets mad and I have to press the "reset" button at the outlet to get it going again.
If you know your own strength, remember to hold the lid on while pouring out the juice, and wash the juicer before the pulp dries, I see no reason why you won't be satisfied with this juicer.
This is my first juicer, but I sure hope it lasts because I am really happy with it.

I was in the appliance section of the store and I was trying to decide between the citrusmate and one that was only 5 dollars cheaper.
And then I saw that the CitrusMate has a separate smaller cone for lemons and lime, and since I was buying this thing to make my life a little bit easier while on the Master Cleanse diet/fast (a lemon and water concoction for 14 days), it was a given.
This is my first juicer, so I don't have a comparison for you, sorry, but I can definitely recommend it as an appliance just by itself. Very efficient in shredding the citrus fruit! It rotates both ways, to get the juice out efficiently. And the clean-up is a breeze.
After this lemonade fast is over, my diet will only be water and juice as far as beverages go, and this thing will be so much easier to use than my Jack la lanne juicing machine, when I just simply want a glass of fresh orange juice!

A perfect product; works well with lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits and it is SO easy to clean. Since citrus juice is a natural cleaner, I just remove it from the base and rinse everything. If it has been sitting too long, then it washes easily with sudsy water. I don't think it is fair to rate it 2 stars because you put it in the dishwasher and it warped. We have used this juicer for years and it has always been a good, sturdy product.
We initially got it to ward off the flu because a great grandfather was cured of the flu during the 1917-1918 flu pandemic by being taken from the hospital and fed hot lemonade for weeks. Everyone else in the hospital died. Now I just love to drink fresh squeezed lemonade with a tiny bit of stevia for sweetener. Goes with my low carb diet, helps me drink more water, and just makes me feel good.

I was brought up on Black and Decker tools - they were all our family used. The house my father built didn't fall down so I assumed that they were a fairly good brand.
First of all, the mechanism which is supposed to keep the solids from entering the juice collector is "poor" at best. Even if we scoop out the remnants after a single orange, we have more than our fair share of pulp.
Secondly, after only 3 uses, the juicer itself (the big rod that spins) developed an intermittent moving problem. Sometimes we can juice a bag of oranges fine - sometimes when we apply even the smallest amount of pressure it makes a grinding noise but does not juice.
We bought another one in a clearance sale in town and found a similar problem.
Update: our second unit just died. We will be buying a Breville juicer unit.

for us, for the price, this is perfect. We make fresh o.j. every morning for our workouts. the product doesn't take up alot of room. Has a few too many pieces for my taste but all juicers do. Bought it to see how often I would really make juice. We haven't tried any 'harder' fruits. A few mangos, a few kiwi's, an ill fated cantelope (yuk). I'm not a fan of pulp in anyway. zero. period. This lets more pulp than I like threw. I solved that with a strainer that goes over my cup. This also allows husband to get pulp and me to get none.
It feels a little cheap but is was cheap. It works just great for soft fruits. it has a small footprint and makes fresh o.j. if that's what you're looking for it's perfect for you. If you are looking for a commercial grade juicer or a Jack LeLane throw a tree truck through it. This isn't for you.
