I purchased this machine for my father, who is completely blind, but a complete coffee fiend. He finds this machine easy to use, and loves the fact that he can make as many or as few cups. I highly recommend this machine.Customer Review: We drink the coffee quickly...so any negatives are mitigated.

There are two of us who use this coffeemaker. The coffee is very hot initially...but keeping the coffee hot on the "warmer" is not an issue as we finish it rapidly. The coffee is good flavor and we are fairly well satisfied.
However...it is impossible to tell how much coffee is in the carafe unless you take off the cover and take a peek (who is up to that the first thing in the morning?). If there is coffee in the carafe and you start another pot...you are in for a spill all over your counter.
Care must be taken when pouring the first cup...CAREFUL it could spill because of the small removavable plastic cover on the pour spout of the carafe. When initially pouring water into the pot...a hole in the back at the maximum fill level will prevent over-filling...but, overfill with water and you have a spill.
Over all...the coffee that is made is good and hot (but we drink it quickly..."after any spills are cleaned up". Never the less...the above mentioned "negatives" are more an avoidable nuisance than they are a problem.
Would we purchase again? Very likely as it is compact, seeming well constructed and the brewed coffee is very good.

Purchased the unit about 6 months ago and have never been happy with it. The heating plate under the pot started to rust; the pot leaks every time it's poured; it's almost impossible to pour water into the water chamber without spilling it; the handle of the coffee basket broke within a few months; and two days ago the entire top of the unit snapped off when we opened it to pour in the water. We purchased this unit because of the Cuisinart brand and the stainless steel carafe. We will not purchase another.Customer Review: Some flaws worth considering

I've had this for about 9 months and I don't think I've ever quite liked it. I'm shocked to read that some people think it doesn't brew hot enough. My warmer plate runs so hot that by about the time the carafe has enough coffee for a cup's worth, it has already made the coffe almost hot enough to boil. I always have to wait 5-10 minutes after pouring myself a cup before I can drink it. I never had this problem with my old black n decker.
The stainless steel carafe is nice to clean but I agree about the spillage. I always pour over the sink.
It's built well and seems like it would last forever, and you can get the filters for it anywhere, but I'm online right now to replace it as it is.
