I recently bought a Bialetti Moka Express 1-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker. This is my second Bialetti. My first one was purchased some 30 years ago. It made a great cup of coffee for the first 28 years or so until I scorched it several times when I left it unattended. In fact the handle caught fire a number of times. Anything burns if you hold it to an open flame long enough. Well enough of my attempts at a scorched coffee policy.
It was a great treat to see a shiny new Bialetti after so many years. I expectantly made my first cup of coffee. My first surprise was how quickly the new Bialetti brewed the coffee. It was done in an instant compared to my old, scorched coffee maker. The second surprise was the clear, strong coffee aroma and taste. I had forgotten just how good the coffee from my old Bialetti Moka Express Coffeee maker had been. Too many years of tap water chemical deposits and scorched metal had robbed me of that great taste.
The coffee taste so good I now also have a 3-Cup Bialetti Moka Express Coffee maker so that I can share it with family, friends and company.
Description of Bialetti Moka Express 1-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker
Adding eclectic character to the kitchen stovetop, this polished-aluminum coffee pot features a unique octagon shape that was first designed in Italy in 1933. The unit makes one 2-ounce espresso cup of coffee in just four to five minutes and is extremely simple to use. Just fill the lower chamber with water and the top filter with fine-ground coffee. Then place the pot on the stove and heat until the water boils. Through a pressurizing process, espresso moves to the upper chamber of the pot, ready to be served. Other highlights include a flip-up top with an easy-grip knob, a stay-cool black plastic handle, and a side-pour spout. When finished using the unit, wash it by hand with warm soapy water and rinse clean. Made in Italy.
