I was hesitant to get this based on the reviews some people were giving, but I have to say I've been really pleased.
I got the first one, and it was cracked in half as some reviewers have said. Contacted Amazon who sent me out another immediately in better packaging - and it was fine.
Have used this for pizza and OMG SO AWESOME. I leave it on the metal rack in the oven (another reviewer said they had spoken to the company that makes it and had gotten the go-ahead) and it made getting it in and out much easier. I used a plastic scraper to get the food bits off, but for those who said "I'll never get this clean"... you're not supposed to!
I now just leave it in the oven all the time, no matter what's cooking.
Give this a try! You'll never order pizza again when you can spend 10 bucks on ingredients and have the best pizza EVER. We used:
Canned pizza dough (will try home-made, but this was a weeknight) - $4
Leftover spaghetti sauce (good tip from a fellow reviewer)
A bag of pizza cheese ($3 for the store brand)
Minced garlic (on hand, but figure about $1 for a whole head of garlic, and you only need a couple cloves)
A small handfull of fresh spinach ($1 at the grocery - you can usually find loose spinach in the "organics" section - the price looks scary until you realize just how much spinach it takes to make up a pound!)

I have no idea why anyone gave this product even half a star. The stone is of such poor quality and so thin that it took me three times to have on delivered that was in one piece. After the second one arrived (broken) I contacted amazon to refund my money I was told to contact bialetta because it was a third party shipment, this detail will lead me to never purchase anything from amazon again, imagine going to sears buying something defective and being told by sears to contact the manufacturer. The way i see it I bought this through amazon they are the ones who should make the transaction right.
but back to the "stone itself". It WILL break just a question if you will get to make one or two pizzas at that price just order out. Go to any target or low end store and you will see that even in these type of stores it was the lowest quality and lowest price. Very poor product line.
They give you a pizza cutter and pizza tray THANKS the pizza tray will break on your first attempt to remove the pizza and good luck getting your pizza cut with this dull pizza cutter.
Again the worst (so far and as I said it will be my last) product on amazon

Was a little unsure about this item at first when reading some of the poor reviews about the stone breaking. But decided to try it. It arrived in one piece, but some of the styrofoam packing around the stone was broken when it arrived. The pizza cutter is cheap that comes with it, but I wasn't planning on using it any way. I've made 2 pizzas and 1 sourdough loaf. This stone definately improves the crust of pizzas and bread loaves. Our family is very happy with the results so far. I really bought this set because it comes with a paddle. I reduced the size of the pizza I make to 12 inches, and it still took the paddle AND a spatula to get the pizza in the oven - I was hoping for better results. The paddle had no problem taking the baked pizzas and bread OUT of the oven. I was surprised to find that the 15" stone just(and I mean just) fits in the oven. Pizza sauce did spill over and baked(burned)on to the stone. It looks ugly, but works fine. I do not put corn meal on the stone as the instructions state. It will burn. I put it under the crust, before I put the toppings on, and a little more on the paddle before scooping it up.
Still a good experience.

This is more than a Pizza Stone, it is a total Baking Stone. Not only does it do the job on fresh homemade pizza, but also frozen pizza, cookies, fish sticks, fries, bisquits and almost anything else that is baked in the oven.
The secret is the clay stone, clay will distribute the heat evenly and effectively resulting in a uniform browned crust. The sloped edge on the stone helps keep the items somewhat on the stone. It even includes a metal serving rack which can be put into the oven with the stone and lifted out together, or left on the counter top while the stone is in the oven, then used to hold the hot stone upon removal.
Clean up is a breeze, just hand wash with hot water. DO NOT USE SOAP!! The stone will actually become 'seasoned' with use, and the small clay pores will retain some of the oil from previous use. However, if soap is used, the soap will be retained in the small pores, leaving a very bad soap taste for the next use.
Great product, great price, great and multi uses. A definite must in any baking kitchen, even if it is just baking the frozen pizza..!

I had an unfortunate accident when I first used the pizza stone due to lack of experience. With my first attempt at making pizza, I couldn't get the pizza off the wooden spatula so that was a disaster. I learned to use much more cornmeal and made a second attempt. The pizza appeared to be cooked. I took the stone out of the oven with my oven mitts but it was way too hot. I rushed to put it in the holder due to the heat and it broke in half. My pizza stone broke the first time I tried to use it. I was able to save the pizza. The pizza turned out to be GREAT! I called the company and the woman couldn't have been nicer. She said she would get a new stone out to me. I also asked if I could cook the pizza in the metal holder. She called the manufacturer and they said I could. If I ran into a problem with the metal holder, customer service gave me the name and number for the manufacturer and she said she would replace the metal holder if I ran into problems. Great customer service!!!! Looking forward to my new pizza stone coming.
