Customer Review: I'm not sure how I lived without this!

I love this electric kettle! I live in a rural area and only have propane available so we try to conserve it as much as we can. This kettle is incredibly efficient and heats water up VERY quickly! It also shuts off immediately after the water quits boiling so I never have to worry about it boiling dry if I want to jump in the shower or run the vacuum like I would have with a regular kettle. The clear windows on the sides are fantastic for watching the water get almost to boiling in case I'm making green or white tea and don't want fully boiling water, the handle stays cool, and it's very easy to clean. I use it at least 2-3 times a day and I haven't had any problems with it in the last 3-4 months that I've had it. We even had problems with our hot water heater for a few days so I used it to heat up water for doing the dishes. The capacity is great! It could be a bit wasteful because you have to boil a 1/2 liter of water at a time to cover the heating element, but I barely notice that and because of the frequency with which I use it I often just leave the leftover water in there for next time and just top it off. I followed the directions and boiled water in it three times before using the water and I have never noticed any plastic or chemical tastes at all. The cord winds up conveniently around the bottom for storage so it doesn't create problems in my cupboards, not that it matters much as it takes up permanent residence on my counter top (and looks beautiful there!) since we use it all the time for tea, hot cocoa, oatmeal, etc. The exit hole for the cord is a little sharp and I got worried about it cutting into the cord so I just used a metal nail file to soften up the edges a bit and I haven't had any problems. I did a ton of research before deciding on this kettle and I am absolutely ecstatic that I chose the one I did.
