Started recycling to keep a few more dollars in my own pockets this yrs. recession has been tough on us all.
I did some quick research online to see what was available for can crushers.
This one has some pretty high marks and looked to be well built.
Noticed my local Ace Hardware carries them so I picked it up. While there I looked at the other options, and like most reviews here it does look to be more sturdy and well built. (no engineering degree needed just common sense)
Now I guess I take for granted that there some very stupid in this world who would try and mount a can crusher of any type on simple sheetrock, if they do find a stud, they try to hand tighten the supplied screws with a simple hand screw driver without 1st drilling a pilot hole.
I will make it simple for those who dont read instructions.
Step 1. find a suitable wall.
Step 2. find a stud (within said wall)to securely attach this device you plan to use physical force on.
Step 3. if using the supplied screws, the center top and bottom holes are all that's needed, mark their place on the wall (over studs location)and drill pilot holes.
Step 4. Place crusher over new pilot holes and install your choice of screw.
Step 5. Crush some cans, (if they pop out once and a while, dimple the can no biggie)!
Now a few mounting tips that anyone with a little common sense would do.
USE A DRILL, make pilot holes!, use lag bolts and wahsers to achieve the most secure mount.
Again if the cans pop out while crushing once and a awhile 1st slow the fu(k down! Its not a race to see who can crush the fastest. Also since you are using a hand to place the can into the crusher, make a little dimple in it with your thumb to not only make the crushing a little easier, but also greatly reduce the chance of shooting the can out (less pressure needed to crush=less pressure to shoot the can out).
