I saw these knives on trip to Las Vegas. We were eating a Bao and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I wanted to have something to remember that meal by so I found these knives which we discussed with the waiter at the restuaraunt. Beyond my own memory, they are a sturdy knife that should last a long time and they add a little something more to a tale setting. Very nice.
Description of Barenthal Laguiole Stainless Steel Steak Knife Set, 6 Piece
Laguiole, a small French mountain town about 350 miles south of Paris, is famous for its cattle, its cheese, and its cutlery. The original Laguiole knife was made by ironsmiths in 1829, as a farmers tool. This farmers tool was refined into the Laguiole Steak Knife, which is used today by many famous French restaurants. The Laguiole with its gentle carving blade, the elongated pistol grip handle and small BEE set into the bolster has been the focus of many stories passed down from generation to generation. The BEE is cut out of steel and decorates the handle. The BEE originally came from an award following a courageous act during a campaign under Napoleon I, when the Imperial Emblem was given as a reward!
