About 6 years ago my product savvy older sister told me she had something special for me- and was uber excited. She escorted my 23 year old self to her storage closet and gave me...laundry baskets? I pretended to be enthused and went home confused. Then I used them in my tiny apartment- I was sold! 6 years a husband and two children later I am still in love and in need of a few more. They carry more than my washer can handle, fold in a second and are still as useful and durable as the day I received them. The kids love to play with them in between loads(they fold like kids' pop up play tents) and they love to sort out the clean clothes to fold or fill it with dirty clothes. This is a must have for any home- apartments, large homes, no kids, many kids, people who haul to the laundromat. I am just as enthused over a laundry device as my sister was years ago. Don't let the cheaper off names fool you- they don't hold up as well, rip and break. This is the best basket. Buy a couple, and don't forget some for your younger sibling...they'll get it one day!Customer Review: Great for Dorms or Small Homes

Who needs bulky plastic bins taking up space? I bought some folding laundry baskets a while back, and they started breaking within a few months of heavy use (the metal started popping through the nylon frame).
So I ordered three of these to replace my cheap Wal-Mart ones and the huge plastic Rubbermaid ones. These are STURDY, WELL-MADE, EASY TO FOLD, COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT, EXTRA-LARGE, and EXCELLENT QUALITY. Handles are long enough to wrap over a pile; you can easily carry a basket one-handed. The inverted pyramid design means the basket doesn't fall over because you've got it piled too high. Being wider at the top than the base means you have that extra room for that "one more item" you need to take upstairs.
I liked these so well, I bought three more. Price has increased 50 cents in a month (8/2010 to 8/2010), but worth every penny, aND I expect these well-constructed laundry baskets to last.

I copied another reviewer and bought one of these baskets for every member of the family. They are quite large and hold a lot of laundry. They have handles to make carrying easier, and they can either be folded flat or twisted into an even smaller round shape and secured with a stretchy band that is included, (I looped my stretchy bands around one of the handles of each of my baskets to make them easy to keep up with). I use these for my clean laundry and it is rewarding to be able to fold them up when the laundry is put away - rather than trying to find a place to store a bulky, hard plastic laundry basket. Also, if you are a messy person, you can use these to gather up things around the house and haul them to the room where they actually belong. Or pop them open and stuff your junk in them and hide them in the closet quickly before company arrives.... I was looking for a collapsible basket for my laundry since I am converting my laundry room to a second bathroom and moving the washer and dryer and the hot water heater to my hall closet. The washer and dryer are going to be stacked with the hot water heater next to them. Needless to say, I won't have any more room for any traditional laundry baskets. This collapsible laundry basket fits my needs to a 'T'! I bought two of them. They are large enough to hold the large loads that my washing machine does. When I am done, I just fold them up and stash them away. When my washer and dryer are moved to the closet, the baskets will fit nicely between the hot water heater and the stacked washer and dryer. They are so thin folded up - it is so cool! I even had to show my husband and he was equally impressed with the design of these things! You will not regret buying this cool laundry basket. I have several mesh laundry bags THAT HAVE REMOVABLE STRUCTURE WIRES/"SPINES." After a few loads, I remove the "spines" so that I can launder the bags w/the regular laundry. I purchased these bags @ WalMart several years ago. (And yes! They're still almost as good as new!) I love these bags due to the simple fact they can be laundered. The newer bags/baskets have a steel/aluminum structure system that can't be removed, so the mesh bags can't be laundered. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THE BAGS/BASKETS THAT HAVE THE REMOVABLE SPINES?? They are probably not manufactured anymore because they last so long!! Oh, and they are collapsible as well.
After having the bags/baskets that can be laundered, I don't see how anyone can put clean laundry back in a bag/basket that contained the dirty laundry!! Yuck!! Thanks for your help.
