Customer Review: Great Bagel-Slicing Gadget for One-Handed Cook

This "bagel guillotine" is a great kitchen aid for any bagel lover who has the use of only one hand. The very sharp blade is surrounded by a plastic guard, so that it is difficult to cut yourself. My post-stroke, one-handed husband finds the "guillotine" very easy to use when slicing fresh bakery bagels prior to freezing.
The Bagel Biter holds a standard bagel, and slices it perfectly every time. It even slices fresh bagels (although the freshest ones have to be flattened out again after slicing). The gadget is dishwasher safe, so it is easy to clean as needed, but mostly the blade only needs wiping (carefully) with a damp cloth or paper towel, or light scrubbing with a bottle brush.
When I purchased the Bagel Biter, I thought it would soon end up in a kitchen drawer because it wouldn't be useful enough to leave out on the kitchen counter. I couldn't have been more wrong! My husband and I use the "guillotine" all the time, and we would replace it immediately if anything should happen to it. Because of its sturdy construction, it is unlikely to need replacing, unless some visitor should decide to walk off with it.
