Whatever Amazon's calling it, this is in fact the "Super Benriner"--big brother to the regular Benriner. What's different? Well, it's beige instead of green, it has metal adjustment and blade holder knobs, and it's much, much wider. Cuts like a dream, but the hand guard is still something of a joke and a Kevlar glove would be a good idea regardless of how careful you think you might be.
My one complaint is that the white-ish plastic stains pretty easily. Carrots will leave a big orange smear on the surface.

I've used a real bargain no-name mandolin for years and thought I'd try something a step up. I ordered this, tried it out once and packaged it back up. The gap between the blade and mandolin body makes this mandolin unstable and flimsy. Better off going back to my bargain brand! Bought my other for about $8 10 years ago. Will just grab another one since the blades are finally getting too dull.Customer Review: The Real Deal

This is what your looking for , professional quality, sturdy, wide, very sharp, able to shave paper thin or adjust to a thicker approx 1/4 inch slice. Adjustment can be made by screw turns, so you control it, it is not a click turn and set like the oxo product which i had and it was worthless, i returned it. I love it, watch your fingers !
