Customer Review: IT APPEALS TO THE PRIMITIVE BEAST IN ME.

This is one nifty, cheap, useful and no hassle lighter. I buy these things five and six at a time. Of course I am able to buy them when they go on sale at 1.50 each here at a local store. Never the less, even at the price offered here they are a bargain.
I have a gas grill, a grill I have had for about three years now. It is a nice grill; very ostentatious very pretentious. As a matter of fact I use it on one of our side patios, the one off of the dinning room, simply so it cannot be seen from the road. The grandeur of the thing sort of embarrasses me and I would not want folks thinking I was putting on airs. This wonderful grill, and it is truly a magnificent thing, cost about four times what I paid for a new Ford sedan in 1963...it is obscene. The grill is loaded and has every feature you can imagine. I suspicion that if I found the right combination of buttons and dials, I could probably fly the thing. When cooking on it I sort of feel like Captain Kirk on the bridge of the Enterprise. Of course the main thing is, is that it is a true pleasure cooking on it.
But alas, despite the superb efforts of American and Chinese engineering, my grill if flawed! Right from the beginning the electric spark lighter thingy has had a mind of its own. Sometimes it works, other times it only goes click, click, zizzt, zizzt and then nothing. I have found that rather than tearing it apart searching for the trouble, time and time again, that it is much easier to just light the fool thing by hand.
But that is actually okay with me, believe it or not. I truly prefer lighting the gas by hand...so to speak. I think that deep in the reptilian portion of my mind I have always sort of felt like a sissy or something, having to rely on electricity; less savage, less in touch with my cave dwelling ancestors. An open flame is so much more satisfying to my primitive soul. As I flick the trigger on this lighter I feel "see me...I am man..keeper of the flame...protector of the family...tonight I provide the magic that will heat the food that will feed my family...grunt, grunt, snarl." Now this is not as satisfactory as rubbing two sticks together, no, no, no, nor even as fulfilling as beating two pieces of flint upon each other or a piece of steel, but it does seem to sooth this need I have.
This little lighter does the job right fine! It is simple; lights ever time and lasts a surprisingly long time...i.e.it has many lights. And above all it is cheap...or inexpensive. There is an added bonus also! I am a pipe smoker and I find that this little lighter is far more efficient lighting my pipe than a common BIC or even a wooden match.
Now, it should be noted that this is a refillable lighter. I am not all that sure about that, having never tried it. At the price I pay for these things, I simply toss them when they run out of juice as I really do not need another bit of junk, i.e. a container of gas, setting around the house that I probably could not find when I needed it anyway.
In addition, it is very handy to light the many, many, many candles my wife has all over the house and to light the fire places and wood stove in the winter.
I have had this type of lighter before...many of them over the years, and have paid quite a bit more for other brands. To be honest, this cheap model does the identical job the high end ones do and does it just as well.
