Customer Review: My first rice cooker

I seen a friend using one just like this and it appeared to be really easy to use. I bought one May 12th 2010 and have been using it twice a day to cook my rice. Another friend told me to use chicken broth instead of water to cook the rice in and it works great. The non-stick finish shows some wear after six months, but not much. I make sure I only use a soft sponge to clean it with inside the pot. It should last me several more years if it keeps going like it has been.
It comes with a little plastic cup and I dump one of those full of rice (long grain white Jasmine from Thailand) and one and 1/2 of the little cups full of chicken broth and turn it on. Cooks perfect every time. If I want more rice, I put in two cups of rice and three cups of broth, turns out great. I don't know how it knows when the rice is done, but it does, which is really nice for someone like me who has never cooked rice before.
It also came with the steamer tray. I've used that about once a week and find myself wishing it were a little larger (taller). If I steam cabbage in it, I have to slice the head into about one inch slices so they will all fit in the tray and let the lid close. It seams cabbage and cauliflower just right.
I'm really happy with it and plan on buying their smaller one for the days when not as much rice is desired.
