I bought two for my new jasmine plants I bought to replace the ones I'd inadvertently killed by over-watering; the globes have worked perfectly. You do have to make sure it goes in at a slight angle, and that the hole you make to insert them is smaller. I did discover you can't put the globe back into the same hole, as the water does then just spill out.
They're working perfectly; I did have my doubts, and now it feels like it's the best $10 I could have spent, after losing $80 in jasmine plants. I'm seriously considering getting a couple more packs to put in my hanging flower baskets.
I'm not sure why other people are finding that they work so terribly (I haven't found it to take "ten minutes" to fill; a small stream of water fills it in less than a minute or so), so I can't comment on that -- all I can say is they're working just fine.
