Customer Review: Works great, but a bit loud.

I like the knife very well. I'm getting old, and my hands are not as steady as I'd like, so slicing bagels is a challenge. This knife cuts through my crusty Italian Bread super easy, slices my bagels without risking my fingers, and carved the meat off my Turkey and Ham bones with ease.
It's too long to do everything with meat bones, but it sped up the carving so much that doing the final bits with a regular knife was not a bother. I like the long blades though, as they make short work of the breads, regardless of loaf size. Easy to slice thick or thin, and I can shave tomatoes as thin as a food processor.
I've had it for over a month, and use it often. The only negative is that it is loud. Really loud. Just the motor is loud enough, but if it hits the plate when slicing, the rapid slicing action bangs the plate loud and often, making a pretty big racket. No one's going to sleep while I slice the toast for breakfast. I'd use a plastic cutting board, or slice the bread in the air, letting the slices fall to the plate. Still loud, but I do the whole loaf at one time, so it's not a daily noise.
I'd seen some complaints about the safety button being a pain when you want to pull the trigger, but mine seems to work fine, with not too much hassle from that. Usually I have to push it once to start, then it seems to allow me to stop and start without re-pushing the button every time.
