Folks, this is the only pan you need in your house. Here's why: Easy clean-up; even cooking; good depth; lasting non-stick surface. As a mother of two young kids I don't have a whole lot of time for cleaning up. That's where this pan is the best. My husband and I use this for pancakes in the morning (you can easily fit about ten silver dollar cakes at a time in here) and it stays on the stove through grilled cheese for lunch to stir-fry for dinner. A simple wipe and it is clean everytime. WHAT A WONDERFUL PAN. My father-in-law is a chef and he fell in love with this pan the moment he used it. He found it great for braising and searing as well as simmering and sauteing. We use it a great deal for stir frying; omelettes; pasta primevera or any pasta/vegetable dish. This type of meal should indicate to you that the size and depth are very good if you are cooking for an average two-three person serving. This pan cooks evenly and unlike so many other non-stick surfaces....it LASTS. We have used it literally two to three times a day for 10 months and it works as well as the day we purchased it. Pancakes cooked at the outer edge of the pan turn brown as evenly as those near the center and slide right out. For reference, we cook on an electric coil stovetop. This pan has such a professional weight and feel to it that when I am able to prepare more elaborate recipes for the "grown-ups" I have the perfect tool at my disposal. We have found the one pan that we will ever need in our home and will never waste money again on another. In fact, we are so impressed with the quality that we have given two as gifts and have purchased another for ourselves in the unimaginable event something happens to the original. Don't let the sale price fool you, this is NOT a cheap product. Christmas is coming. Buy a couple, add in some pre-packaged gourmet goodies (pasta's dried herbs, etc) and wrap it up in shrink wrap. You'll have a superb gift at an easy on the pocket price!
Description of Anolon Professional Deep 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet
Relatively high sides and a curved interior allow you to do some quick saute moves in this pan without flipping the ingredients out onto the cooktop. The non-stick interior enables you to cook light and clean fast, while the anodized aluminum gives superior heat distribution and conductivity.Harder than steel, this deep, rounded, 12-inch skillet is rugged enough for everyday use and large enough for cooking family-size meals. At 2-3/4 inches, it's deep enough for stir-frying on the stovetop, roasting vegetables, and for baking macaroni and cheese or a big cherry cobbler in the oven (safe to 500 degrees F). Because it's made of hard-anodized aluminum it heats quickly and evenly without hot spots, and its exterior resists scratching and denting. For readily releasing food and easy cleanup, the interior is coated in DuPont's exceptionally durable three-layer Autograph nonstick. The skillet's hollow, 18/10 stainless-steel handle is riveted for strength and stays cool on the stovetop, and it has a hole to facilitate storing on a hook or peg. The skillet should be hand washed.
