Description of Angel Praying By William Morris in Stained Glass
This detail is from a window by William Morris in Cattistock, Dorset, which dates from 1882. The praying angel was adapted from an earlier drawing which Morris did for the ceiling of the church in Jesus College Cambridge and she appears with 5 other figures in a window which has been described as 'particularly beautiful with strong, pure, colours'. The inscription on the actual window reads "are they not all/ ministering spirits/sent forth/to minister for them/who shall be/heirs of salvation.Kitchen and Housewares
