I have worked with all types of lab weighing apparatus. This little pocket scale is very accurate for what it is. You need good technique with any weighing tool. A good level and stable heavy table to rest it on. A good environment free of vibration and air currents. Good technique. I checked the scale I received and it was within .01 gram at 1 gram and within .10 gram at 100 grams. A perfectly acceptable error for a .01 g balance. The errors and weights were repeatable. I am perfectly happy with this result. I would expect slightly better performance from a $1000 digital lab scale but for the price paid it is a bargain.Customer Review: I am happy.

I purchased this device so that I could measure the minerals that I add into 'pure' water. The idea is that my local tap water is toxic to the fish in my 55 gallon aquarium, so I use reverse osmosis water. RO water has no minerals, fish need some, so I enjoy being able to measure out mineral additives to a .01 gram resolution.
I did test this with a hand full of coins (and the US Mint weight chart) and all came in within .04 grams (coins vary).
I did buy the 100g calibration weight. As it turned out, my device was calibrated 99.99% out of the box. Nothing wrong with that.

I've owned this little China-made scale for more than a year now. Though certainly not in the same league as my laboratory grade Ohaus digital and my student grade Ohaus digital scales, in at least one respect, this little guy outperforms these much more expensive scales. That respect is the tendency of the Ohaus scales weight reading(s) to creep. On the other hand, the AMW-100 reading is unwavering. It works as well today as it did on the day it arrived and I can comfortably recommend this both as a great scale and a great value.Customer Review: Great product, great price

Bought this scale to weigh out homebrewing ingredients after an older kitchen scale crapped out. I didn't realize it went down to such finite accuracy which is pretty impressive for a $25 scale (I was expecting to pay a lot more). The different modes are useful since I use it for varied ingredients like hops, spices, dried orange peel, coriander, and clarifying agents in my zymurgical hobby. I don't really need .01 gram accuracy but I guess it's cool that it is so precise. Works fine so far, great product at a great price!Customer Review: Very happy customer!!

I love this scale! It's lightweight, compact, and incredibly accurate! I was weighing some materials in the lab after I first received it a few weeks ago, and I noticed that the numbers kept fluctuating up and down... I thought something might have been wrong with my scale, but then I noticed that it was my breath that was causing the changes! The scale is so sensitive that it picked up the slight pressure changes caused by my exhalations - very nice. I am very pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this to anyone.
