Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of All-Clad Copper Core 12-Inch Fry Pan

Customer Review: Stick 3 Stars

The main review of this item lists all its attributes, well-made,copper core, even heating, usable in oven and even stick resistant. I suppose stick-resistant and non-stick aren't really the same thing. If the reviewer sauteed some gravel, it probably didn't stick, but everything plant or animal we've placed into this skillet has stuck. This happens even with the use of oils preheated in skillet. We're not gourmet cooks, so perhaps there's some secret unknown to us mere mortals, but stuck is stuck. Although it does look good hanging on that rack!

Customer Review: It is not a good steel
Summary: 1 Stars

Key words: it requires right amount of oil (means a lot!) - not your healthy cooking pan. When you don't have oil to fully cover all surface, it burns - no beautiful pancakes or potatoes cakes (though washed later ok). I also have doubts about quality of steel in the recent years: mine got colored circles. They did not go away on recommended washing types. I was afraid to use it: these color circles may be signs of oxygenation of steel.

Customer Review: Easily the best pan I have used
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this pan to replace a Revereware Aluminum bottomed 12 inch fry pan. Wow what a difference in cooking. I had always slightly burned Coconut milk at the edges of the pan while reducing it. With the All-Clad pan for the first time it cooked perfectly. This pan is excellent for cooking Thai and Indian curry.

I bought this pan when it went on sale for $126 and I now wish I had bought 2 (one for a present).

Customer Review: Excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

Made in the USA. Much easier to clean than the cast iron skillet it replaced. The large handle stays cool, really it does. The small handle gets warm but not too hot in my experience. I am no pro chef so I do not fully appreciate a skillet as expensive as this one. But I think it was worth the money nonetheless.

Customer Review: Amazing pan
Summary: 5 Stars

Definitely expensive, but waited for a good price and jumped on it. Already owned the 10" and had to have the large one. A joy to cook in. Heats up FAST and cooks evenly. Very rugged and worth the money.
